In line with the Finance Act 2025, the *Central Directorate of National Savings (CDNS)* has notified revised withholding tax rates on *National Saving Schemes (NSS)* from July 1, 2025.

In this connection, the CDNS has issued a notification on Monday as per Tenth Schedule of the Income Tax Ordinance.

According to the notification, the rate of tax imposed on profit on debt for *persons not appearing on the Active Taxpayers List (ATL) has been increased to 30 percent* from July 1, 2025.

Overseas Pakistanis — Big Tax Relief!

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced that Overseas Pakistanis who hold a NICOP or POC can now pay just 1.5% tax (instead of 10.5%) when buying property in Pakistan worth up to PKR 50 million — saving 9% tax.

How to avail this benefit:

1.⁠ ⁠Visit FBR’s e-payment website.
2.⁠ ⁠Fill and submit the new challan form with NICOP/POC copy.
3.⁠ ⁠Contact your Regional Tax Office’s overseas desk.
4.⁠ ⁠Inform them your challan is submitted and you plan to buy property.

✅ Approval takes 1–2 days, granting you “filer” status for the reduced tax rate.
