Last week, I was invited by Narpani Paeravai Youth and the NUS Tamil Language Society to be part of their Youth Connexions event and share my journey in building financial resilience.

To stand in front of a room full of college students, I thought long and hard about what I was going to share with them that could potentially make an impact on their life decisions, or would I simply be one of the many talks they have heard that would soon be forgotten?

At their age, they probably won't understand what it means to be a mother of 2 beautiful children and balancing family obligations with commission-based financial planning work.

But what I wanted to share with them was a message of hope.

Because no matter what their background was or where their starting line was, it is possible for them to turn their life around and pave their way towards financial resilience. I am a living proof of that.

“If you can’t fly, then run. If you can’t run, then walk. If you can’t walk, then crawl. But whatever happens, keep moving forward.”

I shared the above quote with the students, because this determination to keep moving forward has guided me through life and helped me to achieve financial resilience. With this determination, I was able to:
🎯 Set financial goals and work towards them with eyes on the target.
📚 Focus on building the right knowledge to achieve my goals.
💭 Establish good habits to improve my productivity.
☸️ Rely on my 'wheel of happiness' to achieve balance in my life.

Ultimately, my modest background did not stop me from dreaming big and taking calculated risks in life to get to where I am today. It’s the ability and courage to move forward no matter what situation you are placed in that defines success for me.

Of course, once you achieve resilience in finance, it fortifies your resilience in life too. Therefore, it's useful for these students to start thinking about planning their finances early, so they have a longer lead time to work towards financial resilience while they still have their biggest advantage - youth.

Many thanks to the organisers for this wonderful opportunity to share my experience with the students. I hope they have benefitted from this session, as much as I did from their participation.

Another day with these inspiring ladies! 💪🏻 One thing I love about this industry is that if you are in the right place, your colleagues energies are so contagious & it will bring out the best in you. It did for me. 😊♥️

What I learned: Speaker is one of the most inspiring speakers I’ve come across in my lives. Most of us were in tears by the time he ended the speech. For someone to go through SO MUCH in life & be standing strong, I was in AWE.

One of the things he said really resonated with me. “It’s far easy to be lying down on the bed than standing beside it.” Usually the person who is sick is weak. The loved one beside the person is going through a whirlwind of emotions.

I remember doctors asking me to choose feeding tubes, dialysis, going through costs associated with transplant, informing me about palliative care. And me asking can we do anything else? There was nothing else to do but to let my dad go. 💔

One thing I am grateful for is that I had the money to pay for his transplant. I had all this savings in my bank and I would have depleted it in a second for him. I knew I didn’t have to run around asking people for help and I could close my eyes and pay off this huge unexpected bill. Isn’t that something to be grateful for? I know that alot of people are not as blessed as this but that’s exactly what insurance is for.

As the medical social worker was speaking to me, I was sending a prayer to god, giving my thanks for this job & what it gave me. It gave me the ability to stay strong and think of what is best for my dad without worrying about the financial impact.

They tell you insurance agents are bad, they tell you money is the root of evil but nobody ever tells you that money can save a life, money gives you options…when we give you that one cheque, that one action changes the course of a family’s direction in life. 🥹

Wrapped up the final day in Boston! The was an eye-opener for me on so many levels. Heard a total of 23 speakers from all over the world share their concepts about financial planning and truly understood industry best practices. 🗒

So, here’s one thing that I learned and will be applying to my work directly. Statistics have shown that majority of women still let men in their life take control of their finances.

Gender roles are hard to shake. 7/10 of my clients are females and I think it’s important to change this mind-set that men are in charge of money. There’s no need to lack confidence in managing money. We can do it and we will. is aspiring to do just that. Financial literacy for women from all walks of lives. 💪🏻♥️

Boston - Day 1 🇺🇸

Took the longest flight of my life and managed to reach Boston after a total of 23 hours. 😱 Always wanted to come to the US (coz of the millions of movies I’ve watched since young!) but never in my life I’ve thought that my career will bring me here for the first time. ♥️

is at Boston! 😘 Looking forward to learning from finance leaders arriving at Boston from all over the world over the next few days while hanging out with my own inspiring PFG team. So much of things to learn and execute and this is only the start to strengthening my clients’ financial portfolio for years to come. 📈

Stronger together! 💪🏻

Coping with post-pandemic life.

While many of us are embracing this period, I found it tough as my husband started travelling again which means lesser hands to help out at home. So used to having him around & now it feels like LDR again. 😔

The past 3-4 days, the kiddos have been sick and unable to go to school and Vinod’s also not in town. So, I made a decision not to work today.

Despite the exhaustion, multiple trips to the clinic, caring for the kids and missing my husband (😝), what I felt today was also overwhelming gratitude for my work.

The ability to plan my own schedule and the chance to hit pause and be there for my children when they need me the most. It’s any working mother’s dream come true.

Immensely grateful for this career that gives me the most precious thing in life, time. ♥️👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

✨Another year of achieving ‘Achievers’! ✨

If you can go to the last photo of this post, you will see the ‘message’ that I sent to quite a few people in 2017. I was terrified of making this career switch.

I’ve grown so much and when I look back, I am confused because the WhatsApp message that I had sent out clearly meant that I was unable to make this decision on my own that I had to rely on other people’s perspectives & opinions. Some were nice, some were totally against it. It makes me wonder why I sent out this message. Was it so that they could encourage or discourage me…?

What I am trying to say is absolutely nobody knows the decisions that you’ve got to make for yourself. Don’t put your fate in the hands of others.

If your family members say do not invest, do you listen to them? If your friend says, invest in crypto, do you listen to them? People will always have so many things to say. What’s right & what’s wrong?

Ultimately nobody should be making your decisions for you. It’s your life and you’ve got the best grasp of it. Do your research, plan ahead and give it your 100%. I assure you that things will go your way.

Don’t let ANYONE give you an opportunity to say ‘NO’ to your dreams. (Like I did!) If you’ve got your heart in the right place, success will come. Slowly but surely. ♥️💪🏻

After many months of hard work, my first video for the year is finally here! I will be uploading it at 3pm today. 😅

Firstly, i would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to all my followers/clients for giving me such positive feedback on all of my stuff. It gave me so much of motivation to work harder & up my game. 📹

It takes so much of time to research for appropriate content, draft the script, film, edit & so on. Grateful for the final result and I really hope you guys enjoy them & learn about financial planning too. My goal is to ensure that these videos are easy to digest for every one out there. 😊

‘Money Problems’ are usually a dark secret and have taken so much away from people, even from myself and my family. But one key thing to remember is, as long you open yourself up to opportunities and think of money in the long term (not to make a quick buck), you will be able to succeed eventually. ♥️

Let 2022 be the year you celebrate financial wins! 📈💪🏻

It’s my first post of the New Year!
Went out with the bosses yesterday and I think it’s time these impressive leaders get the spotlight! 👨‍💼

Was a special outing for me as I was honestly a bit nervous when I heard that the Director was going to treat me for my MDRT achievement but it all went away after sitting down with two of the most inspiring people out there! 😅

has this magic where the leaders make you feel like you can do anything. They’ve instilled so much of confidence in me like no other. 😊

Thank you bosses for letting me run with my strengths, the brilliant resources and mentoring you’ve provided me with since day one. 📚

This job (the biggest risk I’ve taken) gave me every single thing I have now, time with my family while focusing on growing my own wealth and of course helping my lovely clients with their financial needs as well.

If you need any advice from me with regard to your ambitions, drop me a note & I’ll share my career switch journey & give you solid tips too. 😃

For now, I am ready to hit the ground running. Bring it on 2022! 📈💪🏻

Long caption ahead!

This year was an entirely different ball game. 😅

The first half of the year I was pregnant & eventually getting used to dealing with two kids. One of the hardest things for me was navigating my time & love between two. Got around this slowly, but surely. 💕 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Work was amazing this year. I think never in my life have I been as passionate about anything as I am about Finance. Clients share with me regularly that my passion shows when I present to them about investments & more. 😊

My work has always been about following my heart. Seeing people receive their first payout or seeing a claim go through brings me so much of joy. My goal is simple, it’s to make my clients’ lives better with every single money move. 💵

This year’s MDRT is something that I am extremely proud of. Largely because I’ve done this with a total of four months to spare (including the time i was on maternity leave) and also while managing a newborn (which I feel is the toughest job on earth 😆)

For the longest time, I was thinking negative thoughts, especially about money. Always wondered why I had to go through hardships. Learned that everything that life throws at you is a blessing..(as cliche as that sounds!)💪🏻

I’ve read so many books to transform myself & my thoughts to set me on the right path. I continue to build relationships with people from different walks of life and they inspire me in so many ways. ✨✨

To end off, don’t tell me I can’t have a strong marriage, raise children & have an amazing career. As a woman, I can choose to have it all & I will. 👩‍🍼👩‍❤️‍👨👩🏻‍💻

So much more to share but more of that in my materials! 📈

Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this journey. You know who you are! ♥️

Going away on maternity leave! 💚These last few weeks have been tough on me. Trying my best to stay positive but seriously the last trimester feels like a million days. I am counting down the days for this baby to be OUT. Sleepless nights are the norm for me now. 😴

I am happy that this pregnancy allowed me to be very active, I did not stop working and continued with meeting my clients and just going around Singapore. Loved every minute of this. 💪🏻

If you have any requests for collaborations or related to , I will still reply via Insta/FB messages throughout my leave & we can see how to take it from there! 📈
For urgent queries, my clients can whatsapp me anytime! 😊

Meanwhile, I look forward to spending this period to take care of myself & my family. Wish me luck! ♥️👨‍👩‍👦🤰🏻
