We had a great night of networking at the South Metro Mingle event. It was hosted at 1942 Social, the staff was friendly and helpful. If you live up in Stockbridge you should check them out.

We are hoping to make it to the next mingle in 2 weeks.

Tuesday’s T.E.A. – QuickBooks Tip You Might Be Overlooking

Are you using the Notes section in your Chart of Accounts? If not, you’re missing a simple but powerful tool.

Adding clear notes like:
• “Split loan payments between principal and interest”
• “Do not post full payment to expense”
• “Use for payroll tax liabilities only”

Can help you:
• Prevent costly mis-categorizations
• Save time every month
• Keep multiple team members consistent
• Protect the accuracy of your financial reports
• Make reviews, audits, and tax season easier

Important to remember: Notes don’t enforce rules or prevent mistakes — they provide guidance, not guardrails.

Small systems create big clarity in your books.

Tuesdays TEA will continue the idea of growth from yesterday.

A lot of business owners think bookkeeping is just about staying compliant or getting through tax season. But when your books are done consistently and correctly, they become one of your most powerful growth tools 📊

Good bookkeeping helps you:
• Spot revenue trends month over month
• Understand your true profitability (not just what’s in the bank)
• Identify what services or products are actually driving growth
• Catch small issues early—before they turn into expensive problems
• Make confident decisions about hiring, pricing, and scaling

Growth shouldn’t be guesswork. When your numbers tell the story, you can move forward with clarity instead of stress.

If you want your bookkeeping to work for your business—not just record it—let’s talk.

I propagated this plant a year ago. It had strong roots and a single leaf when I planted it in a pot with another plant. That pot sat on my fireplace for an entire year. The leaf stayed green and healthy—but it never changed. It never grew.
Over Christmas, I moved it to a bathroom window where it gets bright light all day. Within a few weeks, it started growing. Now it has two new leaves.
When the plant was in the wrong place, no matter how much it wanted to grow, it didn’t have the right resources or “tools” to do so. Once it was moved to an environment filled with light, it could finally grow into its full potential. It became what it was meant to be.
We’re a lot like that plant.
We all carry growth and potential inside us, but sometimes we don’t realize it because we’re sitting in low-light environments—places that don’t nourish who we’re becoming. We don’t always know that better environments and better tools exist.
When we find the light, we have to choose to stay there—and allow ourselves to grow.
Find your light.
Secure your place in it.
Become who you have the potential to be. 🌱

Tuesdays TEA

Just like you keep water moving to prevent frozen pipes, consistent bookkeeping keeps your cash flow and financial data from backing up. When books are ignored, small issues can freeze in place and turn into costly problems later.
Staying on top of your bookkeeping now helps you spot issues early, avoid surprises, and keep your business running smoothly—no emergency repairs required.

Recording Depreciation and Amortization every month gives you a much clearer view of your business’s financial health. These are “paper losses”—expenses that don’t involve actual cash leaving your business—but they reduce your taxable income and make your monthly profit picture more accurate.
Why it matters:
• ✅ Better financial decisions: Knowing your real net profit helps you plan for growth, hiring, or investments.
• ✅ Smoother tax planning: By tracking these monthly, you avoid surprises at year-end.
• ✅ Insight into asset value: Depreciation shows how your equipment, property, or other assets are being used over time.
📅 Make it a habit: record these expenses monthly, not yearly. Your CPA will love you, and you’ll have a much clearer snapshot of your business performance every month!

Today we had another great lunch with our friend Tra’von from Junkstar Services. For only 27, he’s one of the wisest and most grounded people you’ll meet. If you’re looking to start 2026 uncluttered and truly organized, be sure to connect with him—your future self will thank you.

Lunch was at Gigi's Comfort Food, and it was amazing. The food is fantastic, but what really sets the place apart is the people. Gigi came out, shook our hands, talked with us, and made us feel right at home. She’s a perfect example of what great business ownership looks like—putting people first, always.

Had a great lunch with Brian Hanrahan from Wingman Business Solutions—definitely a local go-to for merchant services.

And of course, My Grandma’s Empanadas never disappoints. Fresh, local ingredients and always a great meal.

Small businesses supporting other small businesses is how strong communities grow.
