One tax return. 37 dependents. ZERO shame. 💀
I asked for dependents, not the family tree! 🌳😂

Tax planning isn’t just about deductions. It’s about DESIGNING THE LEGAL, TAX, OWNERSHIP, INVESTMENT AND STATE ARCHITECTURE around the wealth you’re trying to create. 🏗️💼

Entity choice, ownership structure, investment plans, state obligations, and legacy goals all work together. The right blueprint starts with your goals and circumstances, not a one-size-fits-all setup or a last-minute filing.

At GTAFirm, we help entrepreneurs plan taxes, form businesses, and evaluate entity structure with a strategy built around their business. Let’s build with intention and focus on keeping more of what you earn. 💰

DM us, send your year-to-date P&L, or call before year-end to discuss tax planning.

Buying the equipment before December 31? The math just changed.

For 2026, 100% bonus depreciation is now permanent for eligible property, and the Section 179 deduction limit is $2.56 million. Subject to eligibility rules and phase-outs.

What may qualify? Business-use machinery, equipment, computers, certain software, and some vehicles. New or qualifying used property may be eligible under bonus depreciation rules. Business-use requirements and vehicle-specific limits apply.

Here’s the trap: ordering or buying it by December 31 isn’t enough. It must be placed in service, ready and available for business use, by 12/31/2026.

Why plan in October, not January? You need time to review your year-to-date profit, cash flow, business needs, eligibility, and delivery or setup timelines. And please, don’t buy something you don’t need just for a deduction: the tax benefit doesn’t make an unnecessary purchase profitable.

Send us your year-to-date P&L, and we’ll help identify which purchases may apply to your business. We’re committed to keeping money in your pocket, with smart planning, not guesswork. 💼

An S-Corp isn’t a payroll-tax dodge, and electing one before running the numbers can cost you.

Owners who work in their S-Corp generally need to take reasonable compensation. Payroll taxes don’t simply disappear.

Then there are ongoing costs: payroll processing and filings, a separate business tax return, state fees and annual reports, and current bookkeeping that supports the numbers.

As a planning guideline, not an IRS rule, below roughly $80K in profit, those added costs may outweigh potential savings. The math depends on your situation.

Before electing, make sure the numbers show:
• Profit high enough for potential savings to exceed added costs
• A defensible reasonable salary
• Current books that support the figures
• A legitimate business reason beyond avoiding payroll taxes

Calling wages “distributions” doesn’t change the underlying facts. Misclassification can lead to back payroll taxes and penalties.

An S-Corp can make sense for some owners. The election should follow the analysis, never lead it. Building wealth comes from growing the business and planning around it, not moving income between two lines.

Considering an S-Corp? Call GTAFirm before making the election. A complete plan should include your 2025 tax preparation or amendment, if needed, and your 2026 tax preparation, not just the entity election. We’re committed to keeping money in your pocket.

Is your profit running higher than last year?

If yes, October is the cheapest month to act on it.

January is too late for many year-end tax moves. With your books reconciled through September, we can review opportunities such as:

• Asset purchases placed in service by December 31 for potential bonus depreciation or Section 179 treatment
• S-corp owner salary considerations
• Retirement contributions through payroll
• W-9 collection before 1099 season
• Year-end bookkeeping and tax planning adjustments

The goal? Make informed moves before December 31-not scramble after the year closes.

GTAFirm helps business owners keep more money in their pockets, with real human support from Connecticut to clients nationwide.
