Isn't that a great word? SUCCESS! It is such a small word compared to the gravity of the work behind it. Once you reach the top of the mountain success is yours and that is all that anyone around you can see, is a successful ________ (fill in the blank with your chosen goal in life). While it is awesome to be at the top of the mountain, we should never forget all the hard work it took to get us there and all of the people that helped us along the way. Staying at the top isn't really an option either especially without continuing the hard work that got you there in the first place.

Staying in one place should never be your goal, finding new ways to grow and improve so that your business stays progressive, and competitive in this time of ever changing technology should always be your goal. Finding new ways to help your clients and yourself, encouraging your employees/partners/clients to share their ideas (No idea is too small, you never know what big thing may come of it), Network and get ideas from other business owners, build relationships not just client lists...a successful business is one that is always willing to change with the tide, learn from it, and improve upon it.

I spoke to you about networking a few months ago and thought I would give you a little update, to possibly inspire you to get out there and try it if you haven't yet.

I have been lucky enough since that first meeting to meet with a couple more of the women from the group and every meeting has been such a success. Getting to know other local business women and build relationships with them is inspiring. The meetings are such a positive way to start each month and you never know what may come of each one. We were asked to share something that we wanted to work on for our business in the coming year, and after the meeting two women made a point to let me know how much they liked what I said. What a boost! So, if nothing else I started off my month (in this case year) with a little spring in my step.

We are also building relationships with local businesses which is the best part. Even if we never get the chance to work with them, I have already learned so much more about my local community, because of the people that I've met. It has been a great experience and I am always looking forward to seeing my group OWN, Olympia Women's Network at the beginning of every month!

Happy New Year! Another holiday season has come and gone, and with it all of the magic of winter. It's January, which means the beginning, and aren't beginnings wonderful. There is so much ahead of us that we are unsure of but that we can be hopeful for...everything is possible, the only thing holding us back is ourselves. Join me in making the decision to get out of your own way this year, don't let doubt take hold of your goals, negative thoughts crowd out the positive, or distractions pull you from the goals you have set for yourself in the year ahead.

This is it, the last week of 2016! I don't care much for New Years resolutions, but I think there is something to be said about the act of setting your self up for success in the New Year. Take a look back on this year and reflect on your successes, celebrate your accomplishments and pat yourself on the back for a job well done.
Now, take a look back on this year and think about all the things that didn't work out on your road to success. Make a mental note of how you pulled yourself back up after each of those mistakes and forged forward with your business. Every successful business has made blunders, what makes them successful is the ability to learn from them, and to grow from them.

Contemplating all of your successes and failures through the year will give you a good foundation on which to set your goals for the New Year. Take the time to analyze why things went right as much as why they went wrong. What led to the failures and what you can do to prevent them from happening again. Now make a plan for a more productive year and stick to it!

This quote struck me as the perfect slogan for what Susi and I strive to accomplish here at Passion in the Numbers. Passion is really what this business is based on, passion in the numbers is just where it begins. Susi and I love what we do and know that all of our clients love what they do, so we strive to offer more than just a "Bookkeeping service". We find Passion in each of our clients businesses, take the time to really get to know what they want for their business now and in the future, and assist them in the steps they need to take to reach their goals.

It is important that you love what you do, and we want to help you do it!
