Most leases say “no excessive noise.”
But what does that actually mean for a gym?
The issue isn’t music.
It’s vibration and impact:
• Dropped weights
• Jumping
• Equipment hitting the floor
That travels through walls, floors, and structure.
No defined standard = complaints later.
Fix it upfront:
• Explain your operation
• Plan your layout
• Install proper flooring and mitigation
• Set a reasonable operating range (~65–75 dB)
Noise isn’t the problem.
Undefined noise standards are.
