You may be hearing about a proposed program, the "Trump Account," that would provide a government-funded account (around $1,000) for children born in 2025 or later.
At this time, the program is not active and does not impact current tax filings.
As always, major life changes—like having a child—should be discussed with your tax professional to ensure everything is handled correctly.

The announced Monday, January 26, 2026, as the opening of the nation’s 2026 filing season. You will have until Wednesday, April 15, 2026, to file your 2025 tax returns and pay any tax due.
