I had three really good client meetings this week. One was with a new client, we’ve only had three meetings so far. They are really fired up about making better financial choices, getting out of debt, and being positive role models for their kids. The wife said she could see the light at the end of the tunnel, something she couldn’t say just a few months ago. They have a plan in place and I’m helping to hold them accountable. I love what I do, I’m passionate about helping people, and I’d love to talk with you if you think I can be of service to you and your family.

This is why I love what I do every day - I received a text Friday night from a person I'm coaching through his employer's financial wellness program that I have built: "I just signed papers on refinancing tonight. Dropped 9 years off my mortgage and my payment only went up $6 a month. THANK YOU! Without your advice I wouldn't have looked into it. But I did because you said to. And thank you for the financial advice, it has truly changed my life for the better. Budgets are pretty cool lol". Quick financial tip: contact your TV and Internet providers if you are out of contract and see if they will give you a discount if you can sign another contract. Real life example - my Dish Network bill went up $20 a month, I called and asked why and the person informed me that my contract had expired. I asked them if I could verbally sign a new contract over the phone to get my low rate again, they said I could, and as a courtesy they agreed to waive my $20 increase on my current bill when I asked them to.

I picked up two more clients last week. I am honored that they trust me to help guide them as they better their financial lives. Sometimes, it's not all about digging yourself out of a financial hole. Sometimes, it's about knowing that someone has struggled the way you are struggling, that someone understand where you're at and cares enough to help coach you to where you can be, even if you aren't sure that you can do it. I know this is what I was born to do, and I love doing it every day.

I just got done with a financial coaching Zoom meeting. My client has been with me almost a year and is in a MUCH better financial situation than he was in before we met...credit cards consolidated with the help of Jennifer Heath and her team at Columbia Credit Union, worked throughout his furlough and is back to doing what he loves, and SEVEN times in his savings account than what was in it before we started. He did the hard work, but it feels good to know that I played a small part:) A quote from him: "I have been working with Shane for quite some time now, meeting monthly either in person or virtually through ZOOM. He not only verifies that my thoughts on my financials are going in the right direction, he has made some suggestions that have improved my credit rating greatly and is getting me out of my credit card debt in two years. He takes a personal interest not only in my finances, but makes sure my personal life is going OK. I highly recommend his services."
