A lot of volunteer‑run nonprofits end up with a Chart of Accounts that’s way longer than it needs to be. Every event or fundraiser gets its own account, and before long the books feel overwhelming for whoever steps in next.
A simple fix is to use classes instead of adding more accounts. It keeps your financials clean, clear, and much easier for new volunteers or board members to understand.
