TAX REFUNDS ARE PROCESSED IN 3 STAGES ⚠️

✅ Stage 1: Return Received
This means the IRS has received your tax return and it’s currently in the processing stage.

✅ Stage 2: Refund Approved
Once the IRS processes and approves your return, this stage is marked. Typically, this happens about 21 days after the IRS confirms they’ve received your return.

✅ Stage 3: Refund Sent
This means the IRS has sent your refund to your bank for direct deposit or mailed a check. The Where’s My Refund? tool will show the date your payment was sent.

Note: The IRS updates their system once a day (usually overnight).

⚠️ Also, keep in mind: The Where’s My Refund? tool is offline every Monday from midnight to 3:00 am Eastern Time for routine maintenance.

Tip: Checking your refund status multiple times a day isn’t necessary. The IRS opens on January 27th, so please allow up to 21 days for your refund if no additional info is required.
