PSA. You don’t NEED them.
Because of my business and being the first time I’ve networked (definitely that time of year), I am getting a ton of extremely condescending ads.

Ads saying to have a successful bookkeeping business you need us. You have to have this.
You can’t be survive without clicking here.
Unless you’re doing business with us, you have an incompetent bookkeeper.
Really?

I’ll assume all industries have ads like this, which is disappointing.

I think, after 35 years, I’ve done something right.
All I’ve needed was the knowledge to do this ethically and morally correct.
The character to be trusted.
The personality to help my clients feel safe.
And yet, I would never slander the field in whole because not everyone is like this.

Find someone you trust, that will answer your calls, files on time, gently nudge when you need to get deadlines met, etc.

Don’t slander your industry to get clients and if they are doing that, maybe they’re not a good fit.

You MUST, do NOW, ONLY we, etc ads must work…but, you don’t have to be bullied or put on a guilt trip.

Success isn’t defined by clicking these ads, it’s simply being you and being good at what you do.

After about the 50th one, I’m a bit disappointed these ads think I need them and can’t survive without them and my clients are idiots if you’ve gone with anyone else. It’s that bad.

35 years, going on 36. I can do it without your scare tactics…and I did. And so can YOU. Find what works for you to be successful.
