Resilience is necessary.

The more difficult it is for you to reach a goal, the sweeter it is when you get there.

Things in life that are worth it aren't easy, and those that are easy usually aren't worth it.

I tell this to new entrepreneurs all the time and recently my own philosophy was challenged when Skylar and I were in Big Sky, Montana.

We found what seemed to be an easy, 6-mile hike that was in and out to a place called 'Lava Lake'. What we didn't know was that the 3 miles in were incredibly steep and challenging. When we finally arrived at Lava Lake it was one of the most beautiful places on earth we'd ever seen. I got to swim in the freezing cold snow-melted lake, and we sat and soaked in what felt like heaven.

The view from the top is not as enjoyable if you didn't hike there.

If you're pursuing something big, and you are facing challenges - good. It's a sign you're on the right path. Keep going. There's a version of Lava Lake waiting for you on the other side.

Eight years ago, I was sitting in the front row at my first Northwestern Mutual Annual Meeting, taking notes and dreaming about what it would be like to speak on that stage.

Last week, I got to do exactly that in front of more than 1,000 advisors.

It was every bit as energizing and rewarding as I imagined. Looking back, it's a reminder that when you set a goal, stay focused, and refuse to quit, incredible things can happen over time.

While the opportunity to present was special, the most meaningful part was what happened afterward. The conversations, ideas, and new relationships that came from connecting with advisors across the country made the experience truly memorable.

I'm incredibly grateful to Northwestern Mutual for the opportunity to share with such a talented group of professionals. A special thank you to Justin Bassell for being an absolute pro and a fantastic co-presenter. And thank you to everyone who attended, participated, and took the time to connect after the session.

Moments like these are a great reminder of how far persistence can take you and how much more rewarding the journey becomes when you're able to learn from and give back to others along the way.

I get a lot of recruiter messages on LinkedIn.
Probably 7 per day.
My response is usually the same:
"I appreciate the message, but I plan to retire here... or die here. Either way, I'm not leaving."

Because I genuinely believe Northwestern Mutual is the greatest company in the world. Here's why:

1. Strength - one of the few companies in America with the highest financial strength ratings awarded by all four major rating agencies, including a AAA rating from Fitch.

2. Loyalty - a value becoming less popular. Our clients stay because we do right by them.
• 97% client retention.
• 98% career retention for advisors who make it past their first five years.

3. History. - Founded in 1857, we've weathered wars, recessions, depressions, and every type of market environment imaginable. Through it all, the company has paid dividends to eligible policyowners every year.

4. The Art of Giving Back - One of the things I admire most about this company is the culture of helping others. From CEO Tim Gerend to interns and everyone in between, people here consistently say "yes" when someone needs support, guidance, mentorship, or a hand up.

5. The People. - At the end of the day, the quality of our careers and the quality of our lives are measured by the quality of our relationships.

And after attending our 146th Annual Meeting, I'm more energized than ever about where we're headed.

It was a true privilege to sponsor the inaugural "U" Invitational Golf Outing for the NY Canes Alumni Association at Manhattan Woods Golf Club.

The energy in the room whenever Canes come together is hard to put into words. It was an incredible day of golf, reconnecting, sharing stories, and most importantly, raising money for scholarships that will help underserved students pursue their educational goals.

I'm incredibly grateful to everyone who did the heavy lifting to bring this event to life, to those who welcomed me as a small part of the planning committee, and to my clients and team who came out to support such a meaningful cause. It's great to be a Miami Hurricane.

Perfect timing for the launch of our newly branded financial planning practice - 'U Financial' (Stay tuned)

A truly incredible experience recently hosting clients alongside Tom Samar at the 126th U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills.

Moments like these are a great reminder that while we work hard to deliver results, the relationships we build along the way are truly the best part of our careers. There’s nothing better than sharing incredible experiences with clients who have also become friends.

Grateful for the opportunity to spend time together, enjoy world-class golf, and continue strengthening connections that go far beyond business.

Shout out to the USGA for a preeminent experience in the Champions Pavilion at the Village on 1, and the clients who made the effort to be there.

One of the greatest aspects of our company culture is the willingness to give back.

Jacqueline Broberg happened to be visiting Long Island and asked if she could work out of our office — the answer was immediately YES. I then asked if she’d be willing to spend some time teaching our newest advisors while she was here — again, an immediate YES.

Jacqueline shared valuable insight into what’s helped her thrive just three years into the business, and the impact was felt right away. An incredible way to start a Friday.

Grateful for the energy and perspective she brought into our firm.

Heidi Wash and Aaron Miller — I don’t need to tell you… you’ve got a special one in Jacqueline!

What an incredible day at our 3rd Annual Northwestern Mutual Farmingdale 'Co****le for Cancer' Tournament for Sunrise Day Camps Long Island.

The Sunrise Association hosts children affected by pediatric cancer to summer camp. They allow the children to bring their siblings, and it is absolutely free for them to attend.

In one day playing co****le, we raised $14,000, doubling what we raised last year —enough to send two kids to Sunrise Day Camps this summer. That’s what it’s all about.

Huge shoutout to Kathy and Brian Boder, Aileen Hoffman from Sunrise, Brianna Sloup, and everyone who came out to play, support, and make a difference. Your generosity and energy made this event remarkably impactful.

What an honor and privilege to attend the 18th Annual Gabelli Sports & Media Symposium last week.
The speaker lineup was outstanding—featuring leaders like Derek Schiller (President & CEO of the Atlanta Braves), Michael Burns (Vice Chairman of Lionsgate Studios Corp), Chris Moffat and Tom Packer from Manchester United, among many others. The insights and perspectives shared were truly impactful.
Two key takeaways really stuck with me:

“Sports is passion.”
“Sports is its own asset class.”

There’s undeniable momentum in the sports and media investing space right now. I had the chance to meet some incredible people and felt a ton of energy—especially around Gabelli’s new fund, GOLS, which is opening the door for investors to own fractional interests in professional sports teams.

A huge thank you to Charlie LaRosa and Alec Boccanfuso—great clients and even better friends—for the invitation, and for an amazing dinner to top off a fantastic event.
