Most business owners don't need more reports. They need to know what numbers actually matter.

If you don't know all seven yet, don't make it complicated. Start with the one you don't know and work from there.

You don't have to become an accountant. But if you own a business, you need to know your numbers.

Save this one and check how many of the seven you can answer today.

Dave Ramsey’s 7 Baby Steps are one of the best money plans out there. I agree with most of it… but not all of it. 👀

1. $1,000 emergency fund → I’d rather have $3K to $5K
2. Smallest debt first → I’d go highest interest rate first
3. 3 to 6 months saved → aim for 6
4. Invest 15% → if you’re over 40, run your numbers
5. College → my retirement comes first
6. Pay off the house early → only if you can afford it
7. Build wealth and give → my family secure first

And my biggest disagreement? He says stop your 401(k) while you pay off debt. If my employer is matching, I’m taking that free money. 💰

So tell me: would you give up the match to get out of debt faster, or keep investing? 👇

Save this for later. Not financial advice, just how I’d do it.

Social Security benefits are expected to increase in 2027. đź’°
But a bigger monthly check doesn't automatically mean more spending money.
Inflation and Medicare premiums matter, too.
The official percentage is expected October 14.

Thinking about buying a business?

Don't start by deciding whether you can afford the asking price. Start by understanding how the seller came up with it.

For many small owner-operated businesses, (SDE) Seller's Discretionary Earnings is one of the numbers you'll see used when discussing value.

The multiple alone doesn't tell you whether it's a good deal. Industry, risk, owner dependence, customer concentration, growth, and other factors matter.

But understanding the earnings behind the asking price gives you somewhere to start.

Before you fall in love with the business, do the math.

Business owners: before you multiply $2,500 by every kid on your team… slow down.

Part 3 of 3: Trump Accounts + employer contributions.

Here’s what matters:

• In 2026 and 2027, a qualifying employer program can let an employee exclude up to $2,500 a year from federal gross income. That’s PER EMPLOYEE, not per child. It can be split between eligible children’s accounts.

• Employer money counts toward each account’s $5,000 annual counted contribution limit during the growth period. Put in $2,500, with no other counted deposits, and $2,500 of room remains.

• The federal $1,000 pilot deposit, qualified general contributions and qualified rollovers are outside that limit. Both annual limits are indexed after 2027.

You don’t have to offer the maximum.
$1,000 Ă— 10 eligible participating employees = $10,000 a year, plus setup and administration. This is a budget example.

Can the business deduct it? Generally, qualifying employer contributions are deductible.

But deductible doesn’t mean free. A deduction reduces taxable income; it doesn’t reimburse every dollar spent. Your tax savings depend on your business’s situation.

You need a separate written contribution plan. Before offering it, review owner eligibility, plan requirements, payroll taxes and reporting with your tax and payroll team. Detailed employer regulations reviewed are proposed, not final.

And ask your employees whether they value it. Money for their child’s future could matter a lot, but it won’t pay this month’s rent.

Can you afford it consistently? Would your employees use it? Can you administer it correctly?

Save this before you offer it to your team.
