Is anyone else just spending this week reflecting on everything that happened this past year?

There was one thing that stood out more than anything, and it was this quote I saw... "The only way to get unstuck is to take ACTION."

Too many times I want things to be 100% perfect before I post, launch, etc. And I'm realizing I just have to take the first step. I've repeated this to myself over and over as a reminder of just how far I've come in my business. Maybe it will help you as you go into 2024. ❤️

As we wrap up the last few days of the year, I'm already deep into planning my business goals for 2024. 2023 was a year of getting consistent on here and keeping up with my 1:1 clients.

A few things that I'm working toward in 2024: filling my membership (The Confident CFO), helping you all during tax season, and taking time to be present for my girls' sports and activities.

What are your goals for the New Year?

End of the year favs:

Who doesn't loves apps, gadgets, and tools that save us time and money?! Or make managing our business finances just a little bit easier...

Here are 3 of my favorites that I use for my small business:

1️⃣ Quickbooks

This should be obvious. I simply could not do my job without it! Quickbooks makes it easy to track all your finances in one place, compare months or years, and create easy to read reports for you and your business partners. 11/10 would recommend!

2️⃣ Google Sheets or Excel

If you want a more cost-effective way to manage your business finances, a simple spreadsheet will do! I have several tax clients who track their monthly/yearly business expenses on a spreadsheet, and all they have to do is share it with me come tax season!

3️⃣ Budgeting App (like You Need A Budget)

Mint is going away, but any way to track finances in one place is great! Or start your own spreadsheet or pen and paper!

I don't know about you, but this is my last full week of work before taking off before the holidays and then it will be all systems go come January for me through tax season!

This week, I'm balancing work and lots of shopping before taking off from Christmas through the New Year. It feels like A LOT right now, but I am ready to tackle my to-do list and then purposefully slow down.

Just because it's December doesn't mean you have to speed up.

Scrambling this time of year to balance your money?

While a spreadsheet can suffice for your business (and it's free!), if you really want to step into being a CFO of your business, I can't recommend Quickbooks highly enough.

This is what I use for ALL my business clients because it's easy to track expenses, see trends over time, and will make taxes easy for you at the end of the year.

It's a solid investment for your business and will truly have you feeling like the CFO of your company!

Get ready for 2024!

Startup costs the expenses that your business incurred before it opened. Some examples might include market & industry research costs, pre-opening employee wages & training, and pre-opening advertising & marketing.

Costs associated with business trips (e.g., client visits, business conferences) can be written off for business. These include airline tickets, baggage handling, lodging, ground transportation, and even laundry.

Do you work with contractors? You can deduct any amounts paid for their services during the year. Some examples of contract labor include virtual assistants & OBMs, graphic & web designers, brand & marketing photographers.

'Tis the season for giving!

Any donations that you give during the holidays can count as holiday expense deductions. However, ensure that you give these deductions are made to a qualified non-profitable organization.

You can also receive a deduction of the costs of supplies used during the deductions.

Types of giving: donation of property, volunteering services, and cash donations.

This time of year is a great time to give and support charitable organizations important to you and your business.
