I know I wasn't the only student who thought a brand-new agenda was going to completely transform my academic future...

While having the latest school supplies may not have been the secret to becoming the teacher's favorite, having the items on the next slide will definitely help make you one of your bookkeeper and tax accountant's favorite clients! 😍

Cause I do!

Waiting three business days for an answer to a decision that impacts your business only to end up panic Googling it anyway is not the kind of support you deserve.

I'm here so my small business owner clients have someone they can turn to with the "Is this normal?" questions, talk through the numbers, and make confident decisions in real time. 😌

If you've been looking at signing up for Quickbooks, here's what I want you to do first:

→ Gather everything you'll need to set your company up.

Your company's legal name, entity type, fiscal year, your tax return from last year, your EIN, all the basics!

→ List out all of the accounts you'll want to include.

Think checking and savings accounts, credit cards, payment processors, loans, and CRMs.

→ Make a list of must-have features.

Do you need to process payments or send invoices? What about track time or run payroll?

Choosing the right Quickbooks plan first can make your life SO much easier.

And if all of this sounds like way too much, just comment "SET UP" and I'll message you all the details on how I can take care of your Quickbooks setup for you!🖥️ https://calendly.com/gina-brightline/meeting

My first thought when I get a text like this from a small business owner?

THANK YOUUUU for letting me know! 🙏

Because you alerted me, I can make a note in your file of the exact date your personal charge happened.

Then, when I go to do your bookkeeping next month, I don't have to bother asking you about that random grocery store expense.. I already know that it needs to be reclassified!

Don't panic if you accidentally put a personal expense on your business card (or vice versa), just let me know so I can make sure everything gets recorded correctly. 📚

Some of the extra ✨little✨ things I do as a bookkeeper for small business owners:

→ My clients know they can reach out when they need support, not just when it’s time to close the books.

→ Act as a strategic partner and connector, ensuring clients have access to the people, tools, and resources they need to thrive.

→ Liaise with your tax CPA to ensure accurate books and records, creating a smoother and more efficient tax preparation process.

→ Accessible when it matters most, providing timely support during critical business decisions, deadlines, and unexpected challenges.

Answering one of my most common DM's for any small business owner who's been secretly wondering:

Can I still help you if you aren't using Quickbooks?

I *do* work with small business owners whose bookkeeping is currently being done in a spreadsheet or elsewhere, but we'll be migrating your books into Quickbooks!

I truly believe Quickbooks is the best option for small business owners because it provides real-time remote access, automation features, seamless collaboration, and third-party integrations that improve efficiency, communication, and overall scalability of accounting processes. 🖥️

As for the transition? I'll handle it!

I do this all the time for small business owners, and I swear you're going to LOVE Quickbooks. Have more questions? Book a meeting with me today: https://calendly.com/gina-brightline/meeting

Tax season has a way of exposing every weak spot in your bookkeeping. 🙃
And when your books are behind, tax season becomes even more stressful...

• Your return gets extended
• Your CPA bill suddenly includes a painfully expensive “cleanup” fee
• You’re left wondering whether you actually captured every deduction available to you 🤷

I help small business owners get their books cleaned up, caught up, and managed year-round, so tax season no longer feels overwhelming.

If this past tax season was a wake-up call, the link down below might be exactly what you need. 😉

SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS: Consider this your May financial check-in from your favorite bookkeeper →

Reviewing these 5 key reports each month can help you make more informed business decisions, stay on top of cash flow, and avoid surprises down the road.

And truthfully — this isn’t just a May task. Consistently reviewing your financial reports throughout the year is one of the best habits a business owner can build.

If you’re already doing this monthly, you’re ahead of the game. 👏

And if your bookkeeping isn’t up to date enough to confidently run these reports yet, that’s exactly where I can help. 📲

April 15th has come and gone, your taxes are filed, and now you can forget about your bookkeeping until next year…

Not exactly!

The greatest value of consistent bookkeeping isn’t just tax preparation... it’s having accurate, up to date financial data to guide business decisions throughout the year.

As a small business owner, you still need visibility into:
How much revenue your business generated in May, where your money is being spent, and how your business is performing month to month.

When bookkeeping is treated as something to revisit only during tax season, businesses often end up paying significantly more for rushed clean-ups and disorganized records later on.

Consistent bookkeeping keeps you informed, prepared, and in control year-round. Book a meeting with me today to learn more! https://calendly.com/gina-brightline/meeting
