10 years. ❤️ It’s honestly a little hard to wrap my head around.
In September 2016, I took over a small CPA firm with about 300 clients, three employees, and absolutely no idea what the next ten years would look like.
Since then, there have been a LOT of tax seasons, plenty of growing pains, a few office moves, an incredible amount of change, and more lessons than I could ever fit into one post. Somewhere along the way, that little firm became Lomness CPA Services and grew into something I’m incredibly proud of.
But the thing I’m proudest of isn’t the growth. It’s the people.
The team who has believed in what we’re building and worked incredibly hard alongside me. The clients who have trusted us year after year — many of whom have been with me since the very beginning. The friends, family, colleagues and community who have supported us, referred people to us, celebrated our wins and stuck with us through the crazy seasons.
A few weeks ago, we finally stopped long enough to celebrate it all. Seeing so many people who have been part of this journey together in the office was pretty surreal. And getting to have Cooper there with me made it even more special. He’s grown up alongside this business, whether he realizes it yet or not.
Ten years ago, I could never have predicted exactly what this firm would become. I’m incredibly grateful for what we’ve built, proud of the people I get to build it with, and excited about what comes next.
