🎉🐾 Happy 12th Gotcha Day to our Office Dog in Charge, Prudence! 🐾🎉

Twelve years ago, one very special girl found her way into our lives—and we truly can't imagine Finnegan Tax & Accounting without her.

Whether she's greeting clients at the door, supervising tax returns from her favorite Lambchop bed, accepting well-deserved treats, or reminding us to take the occasional break, Prudence has become an important part of our office family.

Let's be honest... for many of our clients, she's the real reason they stop by the office. ❤️

Thank you for 12 years of tail wags, unconditional love, and being the best coworker anyone could ask for. We hope your day is filled with extra treats, naps, and all the attention your little heart desires.

🏖️ Thinking about renting out your vacation home? Don't forget about the tax implications!

Whether you're listing your lake house, beach condo, or cabin for a little extra income, how many days you rent it matters.

📅 Rent it for 14 days or less?
In many cases, that rental income isn't taxable.

📅 Rent it for more than 14 days?
You'll generally need to report the rental income—but you may also qualify to deduct a portion of expenses like:
✔️ Utilities
✔️ Insurance
✔️ Maintenance
✔️ Property taxes
✔️ Mortgage interest
✔️ Depreciation

The catch? The amount you can deduct depends on how much you use the home personally versus how much it's rented, and the rules can get complicated quickly.

🌎 Happy Earth Day! 🌱

At our office, tax season means a lot of paper… like, A LOT. And while we can’t completely avoid printing (yet), we’re committed to making sure it doesn’t all end up in a landfill.

That’s why we proudly partner with our friends over at the WiNc Community Garden & Orchard (https://www.facebook.com/groups/1290924302257746). Instead of tossing our paper shreds, we send them off to become worm food 🪱 and turn into nutrient-rich compost.

♻️ We also recycle all aluminum and cardboard, doing our part to reduce waste wherever we can.

Small changes add up—and we’re always looking for ways to do better for our planet. 💚
