CAS Bookkeeping

CAS Bookkeeping Reliable bookkeeping without the confusion - I make your finances clear, accurate, and simple. Hi, I’m Cassie—the heart behind CAS Bookkeeping.

I’m a wife, mom of two who found my professional passion in bookkeeping. From East Texas to anywhere in the U.S., I help business owners simplify their books so they can stress less and focus on what matters most.

One of the most expensive decisions you can make is waiting until tax season to get your books in order.

The October 15 tax extension deadline is only about seven weeks away, which means it is officially time to stop putting off that bookkeeping cleanup!

I only have room for TWO more cleanup clients before the deadline. Once those spots are filled, I won't be able to take on any others.

If your books need attention, comment “BOOKS” below or send me a message, and let’s get them cleaned up!

Another great day learning from the people in our BNI – Tyler Connections group! 🙌

Ray Ver Hay with Staples Commercial Realty shared more about the world of commercial real estate, and I loved getting a better understanding of just how many options there are for business owners.

Whether you’re looking for office space, a new location for your business, an investment property, or trying to figure out what makes the most sense for your next stage of growth, there’s a lot more to consider than I realized!

That’s one of my favorite things about BNI. I’m constantly learning more about different industries and getting to know local professionals I can confidently connect with. It also makes enables to serve my clients better who might bein the market for commercial real estate! 🙌

Thanks for sharing your expertise with us, Ray!

"How do I know if I'm ready for a bookkeeper?"

If any of these sound familiar:

• You're avoiding looking at your bank account
• Tax season stresses you out
• You aren't sure what your profit is
• You haven't reconciled accounts in months

>>>You're ready.

The right time isn't when everything is a mess.

The right time is before it becomes one.

Client Win 🎉

Got a message on LinkedIn a couple weeks ago from someone I wasn't expecting to hear from... just a friendly reminder, even hobby clubs need clean books. (Yes, really. If you're running a fishing club, a hobby league, anything with dues, expenses, or a shared account - you need this too.)

He needed several years cleaned up, and fast. His CPA needed accurate books ASAP for a situation that couldn't wait.

No pressure, right? 😅

Less than 24 hours later, it was done.

He was relieved. I was caffeinated. Everybody won.

I'm genuinely grateful he trusted me with something this time-sensitive, and even more grateful I was able to accommodate this need.

This is exactly why I do this work. Whether you're running a business or just managing something you love on the side, your books matter more than you think, and having someone in your corner when it counts is a good feeling.

If your bookkeeping needs some love before it becomes an emergency, let's talk before it's a 2am situation. 😉

We had another great BNI – Tyler Connections meeting this week! 🙌

Holli Fourniquet with Holt Creative Group shared something I think every business owner needs to hear: it’s not enough to just *do* marketing. You need a strategy behind what you’re doing for it to really be effective.

She walked us through a simple Facebook audit that we could actually do ourselves, looking at things like our cover and profile images, pinned posts, how our pages look on mobile, and whether we’re actually engaging with people instead of just posting and disappearing. (You know... being social...) 😉

What I love is Holli’s genuine passion for helping local businesses succeed. She knows marketing, but she also knows Tyler and East Texas, and she truly wants to see the businesses in our community grow.

I definitely left with a few things to go check on my own page! 😂 Thanks for sharing with us, Holli!

Most people see the reports.

They don't see the hours spent reviewing details, finding discrepancies, and making sure everything is accurate.

Good bookkeeping isn't flashy.

But it can change your business.

I didn’t wake up one day and decide to start a bookkeeping business. It took almost a decade, 3 jobs, and one really frustrating tax season to get here.

When I worked at a bank, I watched business owners come through the door all the time. Some had their financial house in order, some very much didn't. You could tell within minutes which was which.

Then I worked at a nonprofit with more moving parts than you'd believe. Grants, programs, restricted funds, multiple everything. I learned firsthand how quickly things spiral when the financial side isn't buttoned up (and how much smoother everything runs when it is).

>>>>But the real turning point came when I was a tax preparer.

Every tax season, I'd sit across from business owners who wanted to do the right thing, but simply didn't have their information together.

Not because they were careless, but because they were busy running a business.

But that meant they'd spent an entire year (at least) flying blind, with no idea what their profit was, what they owed, or where their money had actually gone. By the time they sat down with me, it was already too late to fix any of it. We were just documenting the damage.

That's the moment everything clicked for me. The best way I could help people wasn’t at tax time; it was during the rest of the year, making sure that tax time wouldn’t be a surprise waiting to happen.

So I made the switch. Instead of helping people clean up the aftermath once a year, now I help them understand their finances all year long.

That's the whole reason CAS Bookkeeping exists... because if you wait until tax season to find out how your business is doing, it’s already too late.

One of my favorite things about getting out and being involved in our local business community is meeting new people and learning the stories behind what they do. 💛

This week at BNI – Tyler Connections, I got to hear from Sandy Douglas with Staples Sotheby’s International Realty. She shared her “why” behind being in real estate, and you can tell pretty quickly that, for Sandy, it’s about so much more than helping someone buy or sell a house.

She genuinely wants to help her clients find the *right* home, and she’s willing to go above and beyond to make that happen.

What I loved most was hearing other people in the room speak up about their own experiences with Sandy. When multiple people are willing to say, “I trust her with my people,” that says a LOT.

I'm grateful for opportunities like this to get out, meet more amazing East Texas business owners, and build relationships with people I feel confident recommending to others. 🙌

The most expensive decision you can make this year is waiting until tax season to get your books in order.

The tax extension deadline is in less than 2 MONTHS! I hate to say it, but IT'S TIME!!!

BUT... I only have space to take 2 more clean-up clients before then. Once those spots are gone, they're gone!

If you've been putting it off, here's your sign to reach out. Comment "BOOKS" below, or send me a message, and let's get those books cleaned up!

Always love getting to hear from Patti Palka at BNI Tyler Connections! 💛

Patti shared with our group about the work she does as a Wellness Activator and Certified Functional Diagnostic Nutritionist, including how she helps people better understand what’s happening inside their bodies and take a more proactive approach to their wellness.

I love being part of a group where we don’t just exchange referrals; we actually get to know each other, learn what everyone does, and understand the passion behind their businesses.

Patti brings so much knowledge to the table, and you can tell how much she cares about helping people feel their best and take better care of themselves.

Thanks for sharing with us, Patti! 🙌
