Create a “Ask My Accountant” system.
Whenever a transaction isn’t totally clear, like a Venmo payment, a cash expense, or a deposit with multiple income sources, add a quick note in one central place.

It could be a shared spreadsheet, a dedicated message thread, or a comment inside your accounting software. Just keep it consistent and accessible.

A quick note like:
Reimbursed Sarah for event supplies
Deposit includes $800 sponsorship and $200 ticket sales
Paid $50 cash to local vendor, no receipt
These notes may seem small but they:
Prevent misclassification
Speed up your monthly close
Reduce back-and-forth
