⚠️ Announcement ⚠️

​If you do not currently receive your refund via direct deposit or some other electronic method (such as a debit card), you will soon need to make plans to facilitate an electronic refund. 💸

Why❓- The IRS plans to transition to electronic payments for tax refunds, focusing on individual and business filers by 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣6️⃣ following a Trump administration executive order. ​

What if I don't report any banking information❓- The IRS will contact individuals who do not provide banking information on their tax returns, allowing them to update their details online. ​ Refunds will be held for six weeks if taxpayers do not respond to requests for banking information, after which they will be processed without interest. ​

🤓 Future Plans and Considerations - The agency notes they will also address issues related to rejected direct deposits, which occur approximately 800,000 times annually, focusing on causes like incorrect account numbers. ​ Ongoing updates to guidance may occur as the IRS learns from the digital transition efforts. ​

May we never forget the unsuspecting victims who died, and the heroes who knowingly ran towards the danger 24 years ago today. Today we honor the families of all of those who lost their lives, and the survivors who suffered the attack on September 11, 2001. May the fallen rest in peace. My prayers remain with the survivors and with the families of all who were lost.
