I broke my own rule yesterday. My toddler skipped her nap, and I chose her over my business.
I'm not sorry.
If you've parented an overtired 3-year-old, you already know how that day went. Feral is the only accurate word.
I could tell you I felt guilty about the lost work hours. Some of me did. But mostly I was there for the chaos, because that's what the day needed.

Here's what I keep coming back to: building a business doesn't mean every hour belongs to it. Some days, the most important thing you build is trust with a small, exhausted human.

The business will still be there tomorrow.
