“Although many people with ADHD live long and healthy lives, our finding that on average they are living shorter lives than they should indicates unmet support needs,” said lead study author Dr. Liz O’Nions

The difference is significant - 8 1/2 years on average for women and 6 1/2 for men. While the causes are speculative, access to healthcare is cited as a possible cause, as well as depression and anxiety. And let's be honest - financial strains exacerbate these problems.

This is why we started this service. People with ADHD DO have unique challenges. Comprehensive support systems and targeted interventions are needed and lacking and why we are planning to expand into general financial support.

Having attention deficit hyperactivity disorder is associated with a shorter life expectancy and a greater risk of mental health issues, a new study has found.
