Golf rewards patience. A good round is built one shot at a time, and improvement often comes quietly—until suddenly the scorecard makes it impossible to ignore.

For Bailor Tate, that progress was on full display last week as the senior helped lead the Bomber Golf Team to a 5–1 record. Against Highland and Flippin, Tate fired a career-best 76. Rather than simply celebrate the accomplishment, he came back in the very next match and went two shots better, carding an impressive 74.

Those performances reflect the work Tate has put in well before arriving at the first tee. Coaches point to his tremendous work habits, whether on the golf course, on the basketball floor, or in the classroom.

The son of Ben and Beth Tate, Bailor carries a 4.11 weighted GPA and a 3.93 unweighted GPA, ranking among the top students in his senior class. He is also active in National Honor Society, FCA, and SEAD, while competing in basketball in addition to golf.

In a game where the pursuit of improvement never really ends, Bailor Tate has found a particularly good time to be playing the best golf of his career.

Way to go Chris and Kelley!

This past spring, the University of Arkansas made the difficult decision to discontinue the Razorback Tennis Program. Then something incredible happened. People answered the call and Razorback Tennis was reinstated within three weeks of the initial announcement!

Chris and Kelley Nosari (not pictured), on behalf of Legacy Racquet and Fitness and Nosari Home Mortgage were honored to step up and help donate towards this century old tradition. They presented Coach Jay Udwadia and members of the Razorback Tennis Team a donation towards preserving this incredible legacy.

Golf has a way of reducing hours of competition to a single swing. For Teagan Booy, that swing came with a runner-up finish on the line.

The Mountain Home senior turned in an outstanding performance at the 12-team Calvin and Sissy Czeschin Golf Tournament at Big Creek Country Club, shooting a 149 over two days and earning his way into a three-player playoff for runner-up medalist honors.

Then came the shot of the tournament.
From 160 yards out, Booy struck his approach to within one inch of the hole, leaving a tap-in birdie to win the playoff and secure second place. It was the kind of shot golfers remember—not simply because of where it finished, but because of when it was delivered.

The son of Landon Booy and Amanda Wollert, Teagan also carries a 3.9 GPA, bringing the same focus to the classroom that he demonstrated when the pressure was highest on the course.

Golf asks a player to remain patient for hours and fearless for a few crucial seconds. When Teagan Booy’s moment arrived, he answered with a shot worthy of it.

Athlete of the Week: Oakley Recktenwald – Composure, Control, and a Championship

Tennis is a sport of precision and patience. There are no teammates to turn to between points, no clock to protect a lead. When the match tightens, the player standing across the net has only his preparation and composure to rely upon.

For Oakley Recktenwald, the opening of his sophomore season suggests he has plenty of both.
Recktenwald captured the singles championship at the Searcy Invitational Tournament in commanding fashion. He opened with an 8–1 victory over Conway, followed it with another 8–1 win over Texarkana, and then completed his championship run with an 8–2 victory over Texarkana in the finals.
Three matches, three convincing victories, and a tournament championship—a remarkable beginning for a sophomore whose best tennis may still be ahead of him.

The son of Clint and Sara Recktenwald, Oakley maintains a 4.0 GPA and is active in FCA, Track, HOSA, KEY, and SEAD, demonstrating the same discipline away from the court that has already served him so well on it.

Tennis rewards those who can remain steady while standing alone. At Searcy, Oakley Recktenwald did just that—and walked away a champion.
