😬 I've been waiting to share some of the dangers of Ozempic until I'd heard enough compelling info from reputable sources, which is now starting to come out. Among them, has touched on this issue with some good insights but just shared some staggering statistics with on a brand new episode of The Diary of a CEO (one of my top podcasts), starting at the 32:30 mark if you want to hear it for yourself.
He said that side effects seen over the last 2-3 years include:
- 50% of weight loss is coming from muscle loss, which significantly slows metabolism when taking the drug ends and effectively makes the weight loss issue worse than before (overall this is a really bad thing as we age)
- 450% increase in bowel obstruction, which often requires surgery to correct
- 900% increase in Pancreatitis, which usually requires hospitalization
Ozempic is still a new drug so there's likely more to come. My point in sharing this are the old, but true, clichés... there's no such thing as a free lunch, and, if something sounds too good to be true it probably is. If you are not in serious medical need of this drug, I hope you reconsider its use. And if you are in need of help changing your lifestyle habits, I hope you reach out. It's often easier to do than you think and we're really good at setting clients up for long-term success.
