Sales are coming in. The bank account is moving. You’re busy every day.

So the business must be doing well… right?

Maybe. 😄

One of the biggest surprises for business owners can be realizing that busy and profitable are not always the same thing.

Clean, current bookkeeping helps you see what you’re actually making, where the money is going, and whether all that hard work is producing the result you think it is.

That’s the part of bookkeeping I love — turning all those transactions into numbers that actually tell you something.

Your numbers should help you make decisions, not leave you guessing.

If your QuickBooks isn’t giving you that clarity, that’s where I can help.

QuickBooks making you want to shut the laptop and pretend it doesn’t exist? 😅

If your books are behind, unreconciled, confusing, or just plain messy, I actually love that kind of work.

✨ Cleanup
✨ Catch-Up
✨ Ongoing Support
✨ Clearer numbers you can actually use

No judgment. No lecture. No “you should have done this months ago.”

Just help getting things cleaned up and moving in the right direction again.

If your QuickBooks feels like a hot mess, message me and let’s get it straightened out.

📌 Did you know?

The 2026 business standard mileage rate increased from 72.5¢ to 76¢ per mile, effective for business miles driven beginning July 1, 2026.

That means businesses will use two mileage rates for 2026:

🟢 January 1–June 30: 72.5¢ per mile
🟢 July 1–December 31: 76¢ per mile

If you use your vehicle for business, reimburse employees for mileage, or track mileage for year-end deductions, make sure your records reflect the correct rate for each half of the year.

Small changes like this can make a difference, and staying current helps keep your books accurate and ready when you need them.

Half the year is gone… are your books where they need to be for the next six months?

Mid-year is a good time to stop and ask:

🟢 Are your accounts reconciled?
🟢 Are your transactions categorized correctly?
🟢 Are your financial reports telling you the truth?
🟢 Do you know where your business really stands right now?

For many business owners, this is the point in the year where little bookkeeping issues start to pile up.

The good news is you still have time to get things cleaned up, caught up, and organized before year-end pressure starts building.

That’s one of the things I help business owners do best — make sense of the numbers so they can move into the second half of the year with more clarity and less stress.

Not your stereotypical accountant… and I’m okay with that. 😄

Cleanup and catch-up work is some of my favorite work to do because I love finding the lost numbers, untangling the mixed-up, and helping business owners finally make sense of their QuickBooks.

When everything gets sorted out, things start to click — and that’s when business owners can really see the value of what they’ve been working so hard to build.

If your QuickBooks needs a little untangling, I’d be happy to help.

📌 Did you know?

Recurring invoices have been in QuickBooks Online for years, but were you aware that recurring invoices and payments are now available across all QuickBooks Online plans. That can be a real time-saver for businesses that bill the same clients regularly.

If you also use QuickBooks Payments, recurring invoices can be set up with autopay, which makes the process even easier.

Sometimes the best bookkeeping tools are the ones that quietly save you time month after month.

One of the best parts of this work is helping a client go from feeling overwhelmed by their QuickBooks to finally feeling organized and confident again.

This meant a lot to me:

“Our QBO was a mess…
... What a find! Mary is amazing.”

Helping business owners clean things up, catch up, and make sense of their numbers is exactly why I started TallyUpPro Bookkeeping.

📌 2026 Business Tax Updates

A couple of practical changes business owners may want to keep on their radar for 2026:

🟢 The business mileage rate is now 72.5 cents per mile
🟢 The reporting threshold for certain 1099 payments increased from $600 to $2,000

Small changes like these can affect how you track mileage, payments, and year-end reporting, so it helps to stay ahead of them. The IRS announced the 2026 business mileage rate as 72.5 cents per mile, and IRS guidance confirms the higher $2,000 threshold for certain 1099 reporting for payments made in calendar year 2026.

At TallyUpPro, I help clients stay informed about the tax and bookkeeping changes that can affect their business all year long.

Is this you?

Your books look mostly okay… but:

🟢 accounts haven’t been reconciled
🟢 transactions are sitting uncategorized
🟢 income or expenses have been duplicated

Those three issues alone can throw off your reports and make tax time much more stressful than it needs to be.

A lot of the fix comes down to cleaning up how transactions are recorded, making sure transfers are handled properly, and reviewing reports in a way that uncovers what’s really off.

If your QuickBooks feels “mostly fine” but you’re not fully confident in the numbers, let’s take a look and see what’s really going on.
