New proclamations posted in the Federal Register today, covering motor vehicles, dairy, alcohol, and aluminum (Proclamation 11048, 91 FR 46663).

But while everyone was focused on the new tariff headline, small importers should also be looking at something else: 😳

💰 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝗽𝘁𝘀. 🧾

This is not ERC. 💸

🚩 This is not a “maybe someday” refund conversation. 🚩

Reuters reported that the U.S. Treasury showed 𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝘀 𝗱𝘂𝘁𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗳 $𝟰𝟵.𝟮 𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲, after about $𝟮𝟮 𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝘆.

That means refund money is not just being talked about.

📌 𝗜𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗲𝗱. 🔴

That should get every small importer’s attention.

But here is the problem: ⚠️

💰 The money moving does not mean every small business knows where its money went.

📦 A refund being issued does not mean the right person knows about it.

📄 Paying FedEx, UPS, DHL, a broker, supplier, or vendor does not automatically tell you who the refund trail points to.

🔎 The Importer of Record matters.

🧾 The paperwork matters.

This is where small importers can get blindsided. 😳

They may have paid the charge.

They may have passed the cost through to a customer.

They may have invoices showing duty, tariff, customs, import fees, or carrier charges.

But do they know:

✅ Who was listed as the Importer of Record?

✅ Which shipment or entry was involved?

✅ What duty or tariff amount was paid?

✅ Who filed the entry?

✅ Who actually paid the charge?

✅ Who controls the refund information?

✅ Do they have proof of payment?

…or are they guessing? 🚩

🚨 $71 BILLION in tariff refunds across two months.

That should get every importer’s attention.

Reuters reported that $49.2 BILLION in tariff refunds were issued in June, after $22 BILLION in May.

This is not moving slowly anymore.

If you are an importer, Amazon seller, small business owner, customs broker, or FedEx-billed customer, now is the time to start asking better questions.

Who was the Importer of Record?

Who actually paid the tariff charge?

Was it billed through FedEx, a customs broker, or another carrier?

Do you have the invoice?

Do you have proof of payment?

Do you have the customs entry paperwork?

A refund process can move, but your paperwork still has to be ready.

Do not assume someone else is tracking your money for you.

🌎 When celebrating another person’s death becomes normal, society has crossed a dangerous line.

We are becoming a society in decay. 💔

Not because we disagree fiercely about important issues.
But because we have reached a point where some people openly celebrate when another human being dies.

🕊️ Charlie Kirk was murdered, and so many PEOPLE CHEERED.
🕊️ Rob and Michele Reiner were murdered, and so many PEOPLE CELEBRATED, (turning this one into a political nightmare.)

Now.... Senator Lindsey Graham has passed away, and once again, social media is filling with cruel jokes, hateful comments, and people treating the death of another human being like a political victory.

⚠️ What have we become?
🔴 It is not exclusively Republican.
🔵 It is not exclusively Democrat.
🇺🇸 It has infected people on every side of the political aisle.

You do not have to admire someone.
You do not have to vote for them.
You do not have to support their beliefs.

But if the first emotion you feel when you hear that another human being has died is joy, politics is not your biggest problem.

💔 Your heart is!

Some people talk constantly about morality, compassion, kindness, decency, and humanity, until the person suffering is someone they dislike.

Then suddenly, compassion has conditions.
And humanity has an expiration date...?

⚖️ Character is not measured by how you treat people who agree with you.
Character is measured by how you treat people you cannot stand.

🚨 NOW, READ THAT AGAIN, AND LET IT SINK IN THIS TIME.
👀 YOUR CHILDREN ARE WATCHING.
They are watching what you post.
They are listening to what you celebrate.
They are learning from the way you speak about people who believe differently than you do.
That disagreement makes someone less human?
That hatred is acceptable when it is politically convenient?
That another person’s death is something to applaud?

🚨 THIS IS BIGGER THAN POLITICS.
🫶 We can disagree without becoming cruel.
🙏 We can oppose someone without wishing death upon them.

Small importers — this is just a friendly reminder:

Don’t assume a tariff refund will automatically find its way back to you just because your business paid the charge.

If FedEx, UPS, DHL, a freight forwarder, broker, supplier, or another party handled the import paperwork, the paper trail matters.

Before asking refund questions, try to know:

✅ Who is listed as the Importer of Record
✅ Whether you have the CBP Form 7501 / Entry Summary
✅ What entry number applies
✅ What tariff or duty amount was paid
✅ Who filed the entry
✅ Who paid the charge
✅ Whether anything has already been submitted

The paperwork may matter more than people realize.
