๐ฐ AUGUST INCOME COUNTS TOWARD SEPTEMBER 15
August may still feel like summer, but thereโs a tax deadline waiting just around the corner.
If you make quarterly estimated tax payments, income earned during June 1 through August 31 generally falls into the period used for your third estimated-tax installment, due September 15.
That can be especially important if youโre:
โข Self-employed
โข An independent contractor or gig worker
โข A business owner
โข Receiving investment or rental income
โข Earning income without enough tax withholding
๐ Had a strong summer? Your September payment may need to be adjusted.
๐ Income dropped? You may not want to automatically send the same amount you paid last quarter.
Estimated taxes donโt always have to be โset it and forget it.โ Reviewing your actual year-to-date income can help keep payments aligned with what youโre earning and reduce the risk of an unpleasant surprise at tax time.
Lower Valley Accounting can help determine whether your September 15 estimated payment is still on target.
