I don't like the words 'Net Worth', want to know why?

Too many meetings over the years, when Net Worth gets brought up, the individual or couple will make comments along the lines of, "I know it isn't a lot, we should have done better", "I wish I would have done more", "I am sure most people you meet with have a lot more than us", etc.

Those two words don't define your worth; lives you have touched, impacted, helped and changed over the years. Those words don't touch on the long hours, the second jobs, and the sacrifices you made for you family.

Everyone deserves financial guidance, no matter what your asset sheet shows. Remember that!

Good debts, bad debts, or no debts?

One of the most frequent struggles I hear from folks in their 20's, 30's and 40's is understanding when to take on debts vs when to make it a priority to pay debts off. Most of it comes down to this... what interest rate will the debt bear versus where the money would otherwise be?

If you are in Credit Card debt incurring a 22% monthly interest rate, get it paid off ASAP.

If you have a mortgage at 4%, you may have other options. For example, instead of paying off the 4% with extra discretionary income, you put it into a retirement account where you are averaging 10%. Suddenly, you are getting an additional 6% spread, compounded until retirement.

Not all debt is bad debt, but all debt can be bad if you aren't managing it correctly.

➡️ What all do you offer as a financial advisor and how long have you been an advisor?
"I have been in this industry now for 14 years, which is hard to believe! I came from a completely different educational background, with a master's degree in cell and molecular biology. When I first entertained this industry, my impression of the field was somewhat negative (viewed it as hard selling products, getting the biggest commissions, etc.), but after I shadowed Bill Peterman, found & CEO at Peterman Financial Group for a few weeks, I fell in love." 💰

"We are a very unique office in the fact we don't just have Financial Advisor's, we also have multiple CPA's, multiple CFP's, I am on an Advanced Planning team, and we also have an advisor who is an active ER Physician. Crazy, right? Our unique backgrounds allow us to offer advice to our clients in the realms of investments, retirement, insurance, estate planning, business planning, taxes, Medicare, Social Security, and just about any other financial thing you can think of."

➡️ What is your favorite part of your job?
"When I started in this profession, my answer would have been the intellectual challenge the market, economy, and investments possess. I have always enjoyed challenge, hence, my degree in cell biology, and this field has its own way of presenting that.
But now, by far my favorite thing is to learn someone's unique story and to then be able to help them reach their financial goals. That level of trust and confidence is an honor and one I do not take lightly." ⚖️

➡️ What do you do in your free time?
"Play time with my kiddos is by far my favorite activity, albeit, very tiring one (LOL). I love to lift, enjoy outdoors time, read, and play basketball." 🏀🏋️
