President Trump signed into law the Working Families Tax Cuts Act. This historic legislation included a tax cut that allows Americans 65 and older to keep more of their hard-earned Social Security benefits. Thanks to President Trump, over 35 million American seniors received an average of $7,500 in relief this tax season.

If you did not take advantage of the President's signature tax cut for seniors, I encourage you to review eligibility requirements through the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) website for next year's tax filing season. Or contact me for an appointment in the new year.

No tax on tips explained. All income must be reported for the purpose of the employer paying payroll taxes on your income. Tipped employees all have a $25,000 tip deduction. Taxes are paid on tips over $25,000. This deduction is on federal income tax only. Workers are still required to report their tip income to their employers, who then report it to the IRS on Form W-2. It's crucial to understand that even with the tax deduction, tips are still subject to Social Security and Medicare deductions for these personal calculations.

We all need to call our representatives and tell them to vote yes on the tax bill being proposed. Unfortunately there is discourse by democrats like AOC surrounding tax on tips. She is speaking against it. I find this surprising since she was a tipped employee before being elected to office.

It appears that some individuals are inclined to overlook President Trump's initiatives, neglecting to acknowledge the potential for positive transformation. Notably, the bill encompasses several empowering provisions, including exemptions from taxation on tips, social security benefits, and overtime pay. Hourly workers who receive overtime should recognize the advantages of this bill and seize its potential.

Similarly, individuals who collect tips, receive overtime, and are senior citizens relying on social security benefits should also rally behind this legislation.
