The IRS has released the updated standard mileage rates for 2026, effective January 1. The business mileage rate will increase to 72.5 cents per mile for 2026, up from 70 cents per mile in 2025. If you track or reimburse business mileage—or deduct mileage for tax purposes—please be sure to update your logs, policies, and systems for the new year.
IR-2025-128, Dec. 29, 2025 — The Internal Revenue Service today announced that the optional standard mileage rate for business use of automobiles will increase by 2.5 cents in 2026.
