QuickBooks is great at guessing, but it’s terrible at knowing the heart of your business. If you’ve ever looked at your Profit and Loss and wondered why you have $3,000 in 'Uncategorized Expenses,' it’s because the software took a wild stab at a transaction and you hit 'confirm' without a second thought.

Software is a tool, not a brain. When you rely on those green 'suggested' buttons to do the heavy lifting, you aren't just saving time. You're accidentally burying the data you actually need to decide if you can afford that new software subscription or if that last marketing push actually paid off.

ChatGPT is not your bookkeeper. 🙃

I’m not against AI. I use it all the time. But when it comes to your books and your taxes? Please don’t let a chatbot make decisions for you.

AI gets things wrong. A lot. And it doesn’t know your specific business, your state’s rules, or the nuances of your situation.

And if the IRS ever comes knocking and asks, “Hey, why did you categorize this as a business expense?”

“Because ChatGPT told me to” is not going to fly. 😅

AI is a tool. A helpful one. But it’s not a replacement for someone who actually understands accounting, knows your business, and can stand behind the work.

Your books are too important to leave to a robot that confidently makes things up.

Use AI for brainstorming. Use it for drafts. But when it comes to your finances? Get a human. 🙋‍♀️
