Unemployment compensation exclusion from FEDERAL tax. Under the recently enacted legislation taxpayers with Adjusted gross income less than $150,000 for 2020 can exclude up to $10,200 of unemployment compensation per taxpayer. Taxpayers who have already filed may need to file amended returns, and married taxpayers may see tax reductions by filing separate returns. Massachusetts has yet to adopt this exclusion for State tax purposes. We are offering reduced amended return fees for those people effected by this change.
