The IRS has already sent over 1.4 million of the IRS Notices CP53E to tax payers this year as they step away from sending paper checks and encourage everyone to receive refund via direct deposit. You can respond to these notices by logging in or setting up an ID.me account and updating your bank account information. If this isn't an option, a paper check will be issued after 6 weeks. You can continue to check your refund status at https://www.irs.gov/refunds.

Heads Up to Vancouver businesses big and small!

Effective January, 1 2026 the City of Vancouver is implementing a new Business & Occupation (B&O) tax on both retail sales and retail services.
Tax rate: 0.1% on Gross receipts

Even if your receipts are below the threshold you must still file quarterly but may not owe.
Penalties for late filing go from 9% to 29% with a 6% interest per year on unpaid taxes.
