The Parent Perspective:
This weekend, we moved our oldest son into the University of Louisville.
Like so many parents, we've spent years preparing for this moment. Campus visits, applications, deadlines, financial decisions, and countless conversations about the future all led to one emotional day.
As a financial advisor who specializes in college planning, I often sit across the table from families navigating these same milestones. We talk about saving, paying for college, minimizing debt, and making smart financial decisions. But this weekend reminded me that college planning is about much more than numbers.
It's about watching your child take the next step toward independence.
It's about feeling proud, excited, nervous, and a little emotional all at the same time.
As both an advisor and a parent, I have an even deeper appreciation for what families experience during this journey. Thank you to all the parents who trust me to help guide them through one of life's biggest transitions.
