🍽️ RESTAURANT OWNERS — I have a question for you.

Your restaurant was PACKED this weekend.

Amazing.

Now here’s the question your bookkeeper is going to ask:

“How much did you KEEP?” 👀

Revenue sounds exciting.

Profit builds businesses.

A company can generate $500K, $1M or more in sales and still struggle with cash if expenses aren’t controlled.

That’s why I want business owners looking beyond revenue.

Ask yourself:

📊 What’s my gross profit?

💰 What’s my net profit?

📉 What expenses are increasing?

💳 How much debt am I carrying?

💵 What’s happening with cash flow?

📈 Which part of my business is actually making me money?

Big revenue doesn’t automatically equal a healthy business.

Don’t just celebrate what’s coming IN.

Understand what’s staying.

That’s where your numbers start becoming powerful.

Can we talk about something? 😂

Buying QuickBooks doesn’t automatically mean you have bookkeeping handled.

QuickBooks is a TOOL.

It still needs someone to:

✔️ Categorize transactions correctly
✔️ Reconcile the accounts
✔️ Review what’s sitting on the balance sheet
✔️ Catch duplicates and errors
✔️ Track loans and credit cards properly
✔️ Review accounts receivable and payable
✔️ Make sure your financial reports actually make sense

Otherwise you’re basically saying:

“I bought a treadmill, so technically I’m in shape.” 😭😂

Same energy.

QuickBooks is powerful.

But good software + bad bookkeeping = very pretty inaccurate reports.

And inaccurate numbers can lead to inaccurate business decisions.

Your books shouldn’t just be done.

They should be right. 💙

🚨 BUSINESS OWNER PSA:

The amount of money in your bank account is NOT your profit.

I’ll say it again for the people checking their bank balance and thinking:

“Business is GOOD! We have $40K!”

Meanwhile…

Payroll is coming Friday.

Sales tax is due.

Credit cards haven’t been paid.

A vendor invoice is sitting in your inbox.

And Uncle Sam would also like a word. 😭

Your bank balance tells you how much cash you have right now.

Your financial statements tell you how your business is actually performing.

Those are two very different things.

Business owners: don’t run your company by checking the banking app.

Know your numbers. Know your profit. Know your cash flow.

If I could sit across the table from the version of me who was afraid to start this business, I’d tell her one thing:

“Keep going. You have no idea what God is going to do with your YES.” ❤️

I used to think I needed to know exactly how everything would work before taking the next step.

I don’t anymore.

I’ve learned that some doors don’t open until you start walking toward them.

Some lessons only come through doing.

Some confidence only comes AFTER you’ve done the scary thing.

And sometimes the opportunity you’ve been praying for is sitting on the other side of the step you’re afraid to take.

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” — 2 Corinthians 5:7

I’m still building.

Still learning.

Still dreaming bigger.

And still trusting God with what’s next. 🙏💙

You think:

✨ Freedom
✨ Flexible schedule
✨ Being your own boss
✨ Building your dream

Reality:

💻 Working after everyone goes to bed
📱 Checking emails “really quick”
☕ Coffee becoming a business expense AND a personality trait
😅 Celebrating every new client like you just won the lottery
🙏 Praying A LOT
📚 Googling things you didn’t even know you needed to know
😂 And realizing your boss is now… YOU.

But you know what?

I wouldn’t trade the journey.

Building Antunes Bookkeeping has stretched me, challenged me, humbled me and taught me to trust God in ways I never expected.

I didn’t start Antunes Bookkeeping because I thought owning a business would be easy. I started because I knew I was being called to something MORE. 💙

In 2025, the idea of starting my own bookkeeping firm began growing in my heart.

And if I can me completely transparent… I was scared.

I had the experience.
I knew accounting.
I knew how to help businesses understand their numbers.

But knowing how to do the work and having the courage to build your OWN business are two very different things. 😅

There were so many questions.

What if I fail?
What if I can’t find clients?
What if leaving the security of a regular paycheck is a mistake?
What if I’m not ready?

Fear can get LOUD when you’re getting ready to do something you’ve never done before.

But I kept moving.

One client became another.
One opportunity opened the door to another.
One challenge taught me something I needed for the next one.

And slowly, I began to realize something:

God wasn’t asking me to have the entire plan figured out. He was asking me to trust Him with the next step.

Today, when I look at Antunes Bookkeeping, I don’t just see financial reports, reconciliations and QuickBooks.

I see the small business owner who finally understands where their money is going.

I see the restaurant owner working long hours to build something for their family.

I see the contractor who is amazing at their craft but needs someone beside them to make sense of the financial side.

I see entrepreneurs carrying the same fears I once carried.

And that’s why this business means so much to me. ❤️

I don’t just want to do your books.

I want to help you understand them.

I want you to know whether you’re actually profitable.

I want you to make decisions with confidence.

And I want you to have someone in your corner who genuinely cares about what you’re building.

Because behind every set of books is a person.

A dream.

A family.

A story.
