Wood Tax Advisory After going through a detailed audit in 2019-2020, I realized how small tax mistakes can lead to bigger issues.

That experience inspired me to understand the tax code and help others avoid the same challenges. With guidance from seasoned tax advisor Krystle Conley, I gained a deep understanding of tax strategies and compliance. In late 2023, I founded Wood Tax Advisory to provide individuals and businesses with clear, tailored tax advice. We specialize in tax returns, amendments, business tax planning, and IRS negotiations. Let us help you stay compliant and confident in your tax filings.

⏳ Filed a tax extension? Your deadline is almost here.

October 15 is just ONE WEEK away—the standard federal filing deadline for extended 2025 individual returns, including sole proprietors and many self-employed business owners, plus calendar-year C corporation returns.

Still need to finish your return? Gather your tax documents and reach out today to discuss next steps.

Remember: an extension gives you more time to file, not more time to pay. Any applicable IRS disaster relief may change your deadline.

Can your business be an LLC AND an S corp? 🤔

Yes! These terms get mixed up all the time.

An LLC is how your business is legally structured. S corp status describes how an eligible business elects to be taxed. That means an LLC can also be taxed as an S corp.

Simply forming an LLC doesn’t automatically make that election, though.

Knowing how your business is taxed helps you understand which returns to file and what to plan for.

Red flags in your books? 🚩

At Wood Tax Advisory, I review every new client's books before we start working together.

And honestly — same issues every time.

Just last week: business owner, 3 years in, solid revenue. But their books told a different story:

→ Personal expenses mixed with business
→ No cash flow tracking
→ Guessing at quarterly taxes
→ Zero profit visibility

Here's what most don't realize:

Messy books ≠ just tax problems.

They mean you're making EVERY business decision blind.

Should you hire? Buy equipment? Raise prices?

Can't answer that without clean books.

Most think they need "better bookkeeping." What they need is financial clarity — knowing exactly where money goes, what works, what costs you.

Clean books = informed decisions
Messy books = expensive guesses

If you can't answer "what's my cash flow this month?" — that's your red flag.

What's your biggest bookkeeping challenge? 👇

😫 Chaos = stress, penalties, overpaying

Stop the cycle. Start fresh.

One Bank Account for Everything?

If you’re running your business and personal life out of one bank account…
You’re playing a dangerous game with the IRS.

It only takes one audit to cost you thousands in lost deductions and penalties.
In fact, we’ve seen cases where mixing accounts led to $1.7M+ in taxes owed.

💡 Solution:
1. Open a dedicated business account
2. Track income/expenses separately
3. Keep clean records = keep your money

🤔 Are You Missing Out on These Hidden Tax Deductions?

Most small business owners leave $5,000+ on the table every year!

3 overlooked deductions:
🔹 Startup costs – Up to $5,000 in first-year expenses
