THE COUNTDOWN IS ON! ⛵️🇲🇹

From Whitstable to Malta, what an incredible journey it’s been!

This Saturday, 17th October, our very own Patrick Maflin and the Cormorant Ocean Racing team will make history as the first yacht from Whitstable to compete in the Rolex Middle Sea Race 2026! 🌊

Taking on 606 nautical miles around Sicily, the crew will face one of the Mediterranean’s most challenging offshore races.

For Patrick, this has been about so much more than reaching the start line. Through Cormorant Ocean Racing, he’s helping create opportunities for the next generation of young sailors to gain experience, develop their skills and compete on the international stage.

As the founder of Marine Accounts, Patrick spends his working days supporting yacht crew with their finances. Now it’s his turn to get out on the water and put his own sailing skills to the test! 💪

We’re incredibly proud of everything Patrick and the team have achieved to get this far.

We’re excited to launch a new opportunity designed to give young sailors the chance to develop their skills, gain valuable racing experience and become part of the crew onboard Cormorant.

Even better, Marine Accounts client and highly experienced sailor Hugh Styles has kindly offered to come onboard as Head Coach, helping to mentor and develop our selected youth crew throughout the programme.

⛵ Back where Cormorant belongs… at sea.

After 8 months in refit in Portimão, Algarve, Cormorant is finally back underway.

Just over two and a half weeks ago we slipped the lines in Portugal, and we’ve now arrived safely in Corfu, Greece. 🇬🇷

It certainly wasn’t all plain sailing. From unexpected challenges like contaminated fuel to the usual ups and downs that come with a long passage, it’s been an adventure from start to finish.

But every mile has been worth it.

There’s something incredibly rewarding about seeing months of hard work come together and watching a yacht return to doing what she was built for.

Here’s to the next chapter, more miles, new destinations and plenty more memories along the way. 🌊⚓
