Heads up, motorists. A significant fuel price hike is expected to hit South African pumps on Wednesday, 2 September 2026.
Based on the latest data, petrol is set to increase by around 83c to R1.03 per litre. Diesel users face an even steeper hike, with increases projected between R2.73 and R3.22 per litre due to global refining shortages and high crude oil costs.
Fill up your tanks before Tuesday night to beat the increase. Stay tuned for the final official announcement from the Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources.
