As a Tax Practitioner in Cape Town, I visit the SARS Branch Office at 17 Lower Long Street on a regular basis.
I’ve been chatting with people in the queue again.
A common (and illegal) nightmare is unfolding:
Taxpayers with active and mutually agreed payment plans are waking up to find SARS has cleared their accounts of much more than agreed—without a single warning.
The Fact: Under Section 179 of the Tax Administration Act (TAA), SARS must give you 10 business days' notice before a bank deduction.
If they didn't, that money belongs back in your account.
Don't let a "system glitch" compromise your business or livelihood.
Know your rights. Protect your cash flow.
Contact Louwrens Erasmus on 072 975 7717 or via email [email protected] if your payment arrangement was ignored — I can help you get those funds reversed.
