BUSINESS OWNERS: SARS IS FOCUSING ON VAT

SARS is increasing audits and verifications on VAT vendors, especially where:
• Large refunds are being claimed
• Input VAT is poorly supported
• Supplier invoices don’t match payments
• Returns are submitted late

👉 What you should do immediately:
✔ Ensure all VAT claims are supported by valid tax invoices
✔ Reconcile invoices to bank payments
✔ Keep supplier statements where possible
