Women’s Month may be coming to an end, but celebrating the women who make an impact shouldn’t. 💙✨

We’re proud of the women who bring their knowledge, ambition, resilience, humour and heart to the table every single day.

Women who lead.
Women who solve.
Women who support.
Women who challenge.
Women who make things happen.

So, as we close out Women’s Month, this one is for the incredible women of PGCO.

Seen. Valued. Respected. Celebrated.

Not just this month but always.

If you only know how your business performed at year end, you’re already looking backwards. 📊

A lot can change in 12 months.

Margins can shrink. Costs can creep up. Cash can get tight. And a business can look busy, even successful, while the numbers are quietly telling a very different story.

That’s why monthly management accounts matter.

They give you regular visibility over what’s happening now, so you can spot problems earlier, understand what’s driving performance and make decisions based on data, not assumptions.

Annual financials tell you what happened.

Management accounts help you decide what happens next.

Your numbers shouldn’t just keep you compliant. They should help you run a better business.

Let's make your numbers work harder for your business.

What an incredible two days at the Suits & Sneakers Main Event this week! 👟✨

We left feeling energised, challenged and inspired, with fresh perspectives and plenty of ideas worth putting into action.

One message really stuck with us: ideas only create impact when we put them into motion. Whether it’s embracing change, communicating with purpose, creating opportunities or contributing to the South Africa we want to see, we all have a role to play. 🇿🇦

A huge thank you to the Suits & Sneakers team and The Tryst for creating such an incredible experience. From the conversations and connections to the energy and hospitality.

And a special shoutout to Xero for organising our merch and making sure Team PGCO arrived looking the part! 😎

We’re heading back to work inspired, refreshed and ready to turn ideas into action. 💡

Choosing how you track your business transactions can fundamentally alter how your financial health looks on paper. 🔍

While cash accounting keeps things simple day-to-day, accrual accounting gives you the comprehensive overview required to secure funding, scale operations, and understand your actual monthly performance.

Unsure which method aligns best with your business model and tax strategy?
Ensure you have expert advisors guiding you.

"It is in your hands to make a better world for all who live in it." — Nelson Mandela

This Mandela Month, the PGCO team proudly embraced the spirit of service by giving back to the communities around us.

Across three meaningful initiatives, we had the privilege of making a difference while working towards one common goal: creating a lasting impact.

Together, we supported the Society for Animals in Distress, joined the Palmiet River Clean-up alongside the Westville Conservancy, and partnered with our valued clients to support the Alfa & Omega Frail Care Centre in Pretoria.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who dedicated their time, energy, and compassion throughout Mandela Month. Every act of service, no matter how small, reminds us that meaningful change begins when we're willing to give our time, our skills, and our hearts.

Here's to carrying the spirit of Mandela Month with us long after July has passed.

HOME OFFICE CLAIMS: DO YOU QUALIFY?

SARS is heavily auditing home office claims for the 2026 tax year under Section 23(b). Here is who actually qualifies:

Who Can Claim?
• Freelancers & Sole Traders:
Deduct allowable business expenses against trade income.
• Commission Earners (>50% variable pay):
Claim premises costs plus general office expenses.
• Salaried Staff:
Must have an employer letter, work WFH >50% of the time, use a dedicated 100% exclusive room, and have specific office equipment.

The Restrictions
Salaried claims are limited to premises costs like rent, rates, and electricity. Bond interest, internet, and phone bills are strictly disallowed.

Filing Tip
If you got a July auto-assessment, home office deductions are not included. You must reject it and file manually with proof.

Check out our latest blog at https://pgco.co.za/insights-hub/ to accurately navigate your claim and keep it watertight against SARS scrutiny!
