Not every expense in your accounts is automatically deductible for corporate tax.

Your profit and loss statement is only the starting point. Certain expenses may require adjustments depending on their nature, purpose, and applicable tax treatment.

Entertainment expenses, fines, penalties, personal costs, and capital expenses may need additional review before preparing your corporate tax computation.

Don’t rely on accounting profit alone when filing.

Let Adzum Global help you review your expense deductibility and prepare your corporate tax return with greater clarity.

Input VAT claims are no longer just about having a tax invoice.

From 1 October 2026, UAE businesses are expected to carry out proper supplier and transaction due diligence before deducting input VAT.

This means businesses should verify the supplier, review the transaction risk, and maintain proper documentation to support VAT recovery.

A valid invoice is important, but the FTA may also look at whether the supply is genuine, properly supported, and not connected to tax evasion risk.

Review your supplier process now. Protect your input VAT claim before it becomes a problem.

Being a small business does not automatically mean VAT registration doesn’t apply.

Your VAT position depends on your taxable supplies and whether you meet the applicable UAE registration requirements. Understanding when mandatory or voluntary registration applies can help your business stay prepared and manage VAT correctly.

Don’t make your VAT decision based on the size of your business alone. Know where your business stands.

Let Adzum Global help you assess your VAT registration position with clarity.

E-invoicing is changing how UAE businesses issue and manage invoices.

For businesses within the applicable implementation phases, traditional invoice formats alone will not meet the new e-invoicing requirements. Businesses will need to prepare their systems, data, processes, and teams for structured electronic invoicing.

The transition is more than changing an invoice format. It requires proper technical and operational readiness.

Start preparing early for a smoother transition. Always confirm the latest implementation requirements and timelines with official UAE guidance.

Let Adzum Global help you prepare for your complete e-invoicing transition.

Corporate tax readiness starts before the deadline.

Reviewing your accounts early gives your business time to organize expenses, assess free zone positions, review related-party transactions, and prepare the right documentation.

When your finances and records are reviewed in advance, filing becomes a more structured processβ€”not a last-minute rush.

There’s a difference between simply filing your tax return and being tax-ready.

Let Adzum Global help you prepare your business for corporate tax with greater clarity and confidence.

Client dinner? Tax treatment matters.

Entertainment expenses can affect both VAT recovery and Corporate Tax deduction if they are not reviewed properly.

For UAE VAT, input tax on client/customer entertainment is generally not recoverable. This can include meals, hospitality, accommodation, access to events, or similar entertainment provided to customers, potential customers, shareholders, owners, investors, or other non-employees.

For staff-related expenses, the VAT treatment depends on the nature of the expense. VAT recovery may be allowed only where the expense falls within permitted exceptions, such as a legal obligation, contractual obligation, or normal business practice required for employees to perform their role.

For UAE Corporate Tax, certain entertainment expenses may be only partially deductible, generally subject to the 50% deduction rule.

Before filing your VAT return or Corporate Tax return, make sure your entertainment expenses are properly classified, supported, and adjusted where required.

Being in a UAE free zone does not automatically answer your corporate tax position.

Your activity, source of income, qualifying income status, transactions with mainland businesses or related parties, substance, audit requirements, and supporting documentation can all matter when reviewing your corporate tax treatment.

Corporate tax should be assessed based on how your business actually operates, not on assumptions about where the company is registered.

Review your position before filing.

Let Adzum Global help you assess your free zone corporate tax position with greater clarity.
