One common misconception is that implementing ISO means creating hundreds of documents.
It doesn't.
For an SME, a management system should be proportionate to:
• The size and complexity of the organisation
• Its activities and risks
• Regulatory requirements
• Customer requirements
• The level of operational control required
The focus should be on controlling the business — not producing paperwork.
A well-designed management system can make an SME more structured, measurable and consistent.
Good ISO implementation is not about having more documents. It is about having the right controls.
