Congrats to Samantha who won Footy Bingo, Zoe who took out Dice Footy, Stuart who won the Coin Toss and Luke who handballed his way to a perfect score with 3 bullseyes. HECS/HELP STUDENT LOAN INDEXATION - RATE CHANGES CONFIRMED - and have now passed though parliament

“The ATO will automatically apply these changes to everyone with a student loan," Education Minister Jason Clare said in a press release on Tuesday night.

"This work will happen as soon as possible."

On Wednesday morning, Mr Clare told reporters the ATO would start processing the credits and refunds over the next few weeks.

"This legislation has now been passed by both houses of parliament and will be automatically applied by the Australian Taxation Office to your loan," according to a government fact sheet.

"You will not need to wait until you lodge your next tax return to receive the indexation credit."

People with student debts will not need to do anything for their credits to apply.
