We’re proud to be a Platinum Sponsor of the 109th annual Childers Show 🎉

Since 1903, the Childers Show has been bringing the community together to celebrate local livestock, produce, makers, creators, and the spirit of regional Queensland.

For our Assistant Accountant, Meghan Whel – who is also Treasurer of the Childers Show Society – the connection runs even deeper, with her family’s involvement spanning generations.

Community events like this are what make regional towns so special, and we’re proud to support something that means so much to Childers.

Daniher’s Drive has become a crucial fundraising event for Motor Neurone Disease (MND), and for Matt, Director at Advisory Partner, it’s personal. After losing his father to MND, Matt is dedicated to raising awareness and funds through Fight MND.

In October 2025, Matt organised the Blue Denim Disco at the Bolt Inn in Uralla, which brought together over 100 locals for a night of fun. As DJ Matman, Matt got everyone up and dancing while making a difference leading up to the 2025 Drive.

As Director, Matt focuses on helping farmers and regional business owners thrive, bringing the spirit of community and support into everything he does. Whether that's navigating financial or succession challenges, helping create intergeneration wealth, getting involved in local events, or showing up to a client meeting with a loaf of fresh sourdough, Matt is supportive of our community, and is always willing to help.

For many business owners, the EOFY becomes about asking "what can we still do before June 30?" But by then, most of the meaningful options have already passed.

We've seen simple strategies make a real difference when there's time to plan. One client, who had a higher-than-expected income year, made a $20,000 super contribution before year-end and saved around $6,400 in tax, while also strengthening their longer-term position.

If you haven't checked in on where your numbers are sitting yet, now's a good time.

We put together a short read on where we see the biggest impact for clients heading into EOFY.

📢 Important Superannuation Update for Businesses!

Superannuation in Australia is changing — and from 1 July 2026, how and when you pay super to your team will look very different.

Here's what you need to know:

– Super must be paid on payday and received by the employee’s super fund within 7 business days
– Super will be calculated as 12% of qualifying earnings, including ordinary time earnings and salary sacrifice
– Employers will need to report qualifying earnings and super liabilities through Single Touch Payroll (STP)
– Late super payments may result in the Superannuation Guarantee Charge (SGC)
– The Small Business Superannuation Clearing House will close to new users from 1 October 2025, and fully close from 1 July 2026

This is one of the biggest changes to super obligations in decades and will affect businesses of all sizes – so now’s the time to start planning and talking to your payroll, accountant or software provider to get prepared.
