Victorian construction businesses are managing tighter cash flow, margin pressure and federal tax changes at the same time.

The Xact team had a great night at the 2026 Master Builders Queensland Housing & Construction Awards, the 40th year of the awards program. We'd like to congratulate every finalist and winner from across the state.

A special congratulations goes to Lendlease, who won the Xact Accounting Project of the Year Award for the Glasshouse Theatre in Brisbane.

McNab won two Commercial / Industrial Building awards, for the Surf Life Saving Queensland Gold Coast Headquarters (Gold Coast) and the Novus Precast Manufacturing Facility (Downs & Western).

Hutchinson Builders also won two Commercial / Industrial Building awards, for the Townsville Northshore Retail Precinct (North Queensland) and 205 North Quay (Brisbane).

We also want to acknowledge the site teams, trade contractors and project managers who delivered these projects.

Builders across Queensland are managing tighter cash flow, margin pressure and federal tax changes at the same time.

Xact Accounting has partnered with Master Builders Queensland to offer members a free, private one-hour session on Wednesday 18 November in Spring Hill. Caine Barends and David Holzgrefe will work through your cash flow, margins, tax position and QBCC licensing with you.

The capital gains tax and negative gearing changes are law from 1 July 2027, while the trust tax proposal is still at consultation stage. Caine and David can help you work out which changes apply to your business.
