The HCQ crew are still going strong on RideWest. They have just entered Day 7 heading from Augathella to Blackall (220 km) 🚴‍♂️

On Day 4 they stopped in Muckadilla at the - a simple but powerful reminder of the mental health conversations this ride helps support through the RFDS Wellbeing Out West program💙
Alumni and previous Director Greg Kelly is also riding in the peloton again this year.

They’ll roll into Blackall later today, and then it’s the final push to Longreach tomorrow. We’re looking forward to cheering them across the finish line 👏

HCQ Volunteering 🫶 Eight of our team spent the morning with the incredible crew at lending a hand and learning so much along the way. Their commitment to animal welfare is unmatched, and witnessing it firsthand was something special.
A few things that surprised us:
🐨 There is a koala environment right in our own backyard at Mt Gravatt, and how important these local habitats are for wildlife
🦆 The misconception around euthanasia, RSPCA works closely with many shelters to ensure animals are rehomed whenever possible
🐶 Only 10% of their funding comes from Government support, with the rest relying on donations and fundraising
🐱 They’re filming their second Netflix docuseries… and yes, the kittens we cuddled are stars in the making
Huge thank you to the RSPCA team for having us and for the work you do every single day.

Happy Holidays from HCQ ⭐️ Georgia & Phoebe dropping off books to the QLD Children's Hospital for children of all ages to enjoy this Christmas📚🎄All HCQ offices will be closed from Wednesday 24 December and will reopen on Monday 5 January 2026. We wish everyone a happy and safe festive season!

HCQ Volunteering 🫶 Last month, nine of us spent a half day at FareShare (QLD’s largest commercial charity kitchen) and together we prepped 2,445 meals in just four hours!
It was energetic, organised, and genuinely uplifting to see how much impact a few hours of teamwork can create ✨
A few things we learnt on the day:
🌽 30,000 meals are made each week
🍅 The industrial kettle can make 600 meals in 90 minutes, which we saw in action
🥦 On our shift the team packed a fish curry which is very rare because fish isn't usually donated
A big thank you to FareShare Brisbane for having us, we all came away inspired!
