I know this is my business page, but I wanted to share something important. I’ve decided to speak at the Liberal Party’s Federal Budget Evening on 8 July, and I’m doing it to represent my clients.

As many of you know, I’m a financial adviser specialising in retirement planning. Most of my clients are self‑funded retirees who have worked hard, gone without, and saved consistently so they could enjoy the retirement they earned and support their families. I’m proud to stand up for them.

I’m deeply concerned about the proposed budget changes. They will hurt retirees who have done everything right, and they will also hurt younger Australians who are already struggling. The narrative that retirees have had it easy is unfair, and the idea that the young should carry more of the burden makes no sense to me.

I’m not trying to be political and I’m not asking anyone to change how they vote. I’m speaking because I care about the people I look after every day.

If you’re on the Sunshine Coast, you’re very welcome to come along. For everyone else, I hope this explains why I’ve chosen to speak publicly at this event.
