Quick reminder for all the employers out there! 👋

Super needs to be received (not just processed) by the fund before 30 June to count as a deduction this financial year.

Make sure you check for any outstanding super and process payments sooner rather than later. And if you use a clearing house, factor in a few extra days for it to clear!

Trust resolutions need to be signed and documented before 30 June. If it's not done in time, the ATO can tax that income at the highest rate of 45%, or distribute it to beneficiaries you didn't intend 🤯

✅ Usually yes: business travel, equipment, home office, software, training
❌ Usually no: personal expenses, entertainment, anything you don't have a receipt for

Great news for everyday workers! 🎉

The Australian Government has proposed a new $1,000 standard tax deduction, set to kick in from 1 July 2026. This means no more keeping every receipt for small work expenses. Plus, you can still claim on top of this for things like investment expenses, charitable donations, and union fees. And if your work-related expenses are over $1,000, the current system still applies, so you won't lose out!
