What a FUN night! 😂 A huge shoutout to the Fowler's Group for putting together such a brilliant event, raising money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation ✨

We hit the courts with three Muddy’s teams- Muddy’s Mofos, Muddy’s Menaces & Muddy’s Misfits- and let’s just say there may have been more laughs than actual pickleball talent 🤣

Turns out pickleball is hilariously fun, and everyone had a ball! Great people, plenty of laughs and all for a wonderful cause 💗✨

What a night at the Fowler's Group Pickleball Cup for Make-A-Wish! 🏓💛

Thanks to the generosity of the businesses that donated prizes and entered teams to compete last Friday, together we raised over $14,000! We're genuinely grateful for a community that shows up like this.

A big thank you to Wayne Fielder and Paul Horn from the Cairns International Tennis Centre for the use of the venue and to our own Fowler's Group team for helping bring this event to life.

🏐Marlin Coast Fowlers Group Primary Schools Carnival 🏐

The 2026 Marlin Coast Fowlers Group Primary Schools Carnival was held on Friday and attracted an impressive 66 team nominations from schools across the region, with competitive divisions for 12U Girls, 12U Boys and 10U Girls, alongside 40 non-competitive teams enjoying the opportunity to develop their skills and experience the game.

🏆 12U GIRLS
This division attracted 21 teams, which were placed into three pools. After seven pool games, the semi-finals were played, with Good Counsel (Innisfail) earning their place in the final against Cairns West.

The final was a very close match-up, with Cairns West coming away winners 13–11.

🏆 12U BOYS
The 12U Boys division attracted 10 teams who played for points, with Redlynch State College taking the honours with 24 points, with Holy Cross runners-up on 19 points.

🏆 10U GIRLS
The 10U Girls division was another win for Cairns West, with their team going through their pool games undefeated, finishing on 21 points. OLHOC finished runners-up on 19 points.

The carnival also welcomed 40 non-competitive teams who didn’t play for points. These players are still learning about the game and developing their skills, and will hopefully progress into competitive netball in future years. The age groups ranged between 10 and 12 years. 💙

The Marlin Coast has certainly been busy with events, including Secondary Schools (76 teams), Club Carnival (45 teams) and Primary Schools (66 teams) — a fantastic effort for our netball community!

Our next event is the NETTA Carnival, with former Australian Diamond Vicki Wilson flying in to introduce the game to girls and boys aged 8–10 years. This will be held at CNA on 11 September, followed by the KENFROST HOMES Netball Academy Gala Day on 12 September, which will introduce the academy program to girls aged 11–13 years.

Our coaches are also currently preparing the Marlins 18/U team to travel to Christchurch for an exciting International Netball Festival. 🌏🏐
